GDB, I think Lady GDB must be one of the luckiest ladies having you.

GDB came to the meet-up we had in London when I was last over and I can certainly confirm that he is a very charming, amusing and interesting man.

He's clearly not as attractive as me but few are so blessed. Other than that, he gives me a decent run in the Husband Stakes.

A horrible thing (if true) is that even now there are more police dealing with the EDL protests in Rotherham than there are dealing with the cases, 3 in the latter instance. (From The SMH repeating a UK Telegraph article). I hate racists as much as the next man (if the next man really hates racists) but nonces deserve everything they get and should be prosecuted to the nth degree, within the law: innocent until proven otherwise etc..

I often wake up at between 3 & 5am and put on a podcast which sends me back to sleep. On Thursday night/Friday morning I put on The World Tonight which was about half about this. No more sleep for me that night.

It wouldn't surprise me to see proper investigations start over the coming weeks, like we have done with other high-profile scandals.

I hope so. It's not just the actions of the abusers which are so wrong, although they clearly are, it's the reaction of those who were in a position to stick these nonces in gaol that needs examining.

In the Royal Commission over here, one person gave evidence that when he went to the police in his early 20s about historic abuse he was told he faced a choice: retract or be arrested.

After a few miserable and sleepless days/nights for youngest, he was as happy as Larry yesterday afternoon...he has been confirmed as a student at the college he wanted to go to!

Ok, he is unable to do his level 3 course this year, he understands the reasons why but he is taking it all very positively and knows the alternative level 2 course with the maths resit (pending the re-mark), will only add additional skills needed for the career he wants.

The big test is Monday, he has to go in in the morning and that requires getting on the college bus (thankfully, they have their own dedicated service rather than a public bus) and he is not so good with buses but with friends already on there by the time it arrives at the stop nearest us, fingers crossed he will be ok.

He will be unsettled for a while, no matter how much he is looking forward to it and we will have sleepless nights for the forseeable but it will be worth it in the end.....might need to invest in some more hair dye though to cover the grey hairs which will appear in those stressful first few months!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Fir's phototherapy thing arrived this morning.

Sheesh. Its big. He has to wear googles and a sock when he uses it. Guess wear the sock goes? Its the reverse of mr Spirit doing the shed preserving look I guess. He remembers discussion of a sock at hospital but not actually whether he wore a sock or pants in the end.

I imagine this is going to cause much giggling. :)

The electric fly swatting is no longer keeping LOT amused, so FIR has had to take it to the next level :)

Joking side, hope it helps FIR.

Fir has psoriasis. It usually gets a lot better over summer but this summer it hasn't really. So next. Step is usually phototherapy at hospital, but ATM schedule just doesn't allow, so we decided to buy one for him to use at home.

Its basically blasting him with light. UVB I think. ( cannot remember this morning, fluffy head) DH is one of those people who needs sunlight and who suffers if he doesn't get enough.
