I'm trying to work out what might be embroidered on a dog bed. Clearly, if you had it specially embroidered for you, it could say anything. But, I did not get the idea this is a bespoke bed. So, maybe RP is called 'Dog'? Unlikely as it seems, that's the most logical solution. "How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?"No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Yes, people have their dogs names embroidered on them. It means if they cancel the order these luxury beds ( usually bought via Internet or catalogue) are less sellable, because people don't want to have a bed with someone else's dogs name on it. Me, I'm not so fussed. My dogs cannot read, and that's the only people who should be bothering what's written on a dog bed. Full price these beds are v. V. Expensive. Buying them with some other dog's name on them they are just expensive,0 -
I'm such a cynic to link the Govt raising the terrorist threat level and the defection to UKIP
Edit: Home safely, oil light came on twice during the journey, car smells like burned oil...... and the M5 is a carp road - midday on a Friday it was stop start all the way from Exeter to Bristol, 75 miles took nearly 3 hoursI think....0 -

Glad you're home OK.
Afraid the M5, especially south of Bristol, is like that every weekend during the school summer holidays.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Midday Friday on most roads will be carp.
I used to drive back Gloucester to Cornwall on Fridays, starting at 12-1pm. It's luck and timing.... you were unlucky - and met everybody who was there "to beat the rush"
My friend used to have a contract in Swindon in the mid 90s - at first she'd try to drive to mid-Cornwall at the end of the day. She gave up and used to then stay in Swindon overnight and get an early start on the Saturday morning as it'd take 6 hours to go Swindon to mid Cornwall on a Friday tea-time.
I thought Londoners/local to were used to heavy traffic and jams! What a whiner0 -

That is what I thought - but Friday? we would have stayed all day and left after dinner but decided if we were going to break down it would be better done with plenty of daylight hours remaining....
The car is making a very odd noise when accelerating, have decided to solve the problem by closing the windows and turning the radio up....I think....0 -

Yes. Fridays too.
303 was busy very early this morning too, surprisingly so.
When it cleared a bit I discovered as well as weekend, commuting and holiday traffic, I'd hit the road at the same time as four laden hay trailers0
