They do a six person one, where I imagine that a great deal of plugging and playing could take place simultaneously.

Hehehe. I thought I'd hate hot tubs, but when we went in one it was great. Now if we got one the decision would be whether to have it near the house or by the cake. Near the house obviously closer for a cold walk back and could tuck it hidden in a corner at the back of the garden by a barn, but by the cake a nice view and isolated.

You can get them made of wood and heated by little wood burners too, but not sure if those ones have bubbles. :D

We're doing a central heating test run after summer today, just to check its all working ok before things get cold.

This is exciting to have this option. :)

Also, while we have it on and its not cold, fir said he'd run the bissel over the limited amount of carpet we have left for me. :). It doesn't take very long, and heaven knows that it will not look good, but it might smell better. :)

Fir has psoriasis. It usually gets a lot better over summer but this summer it hasn't really. So next. Step is usually phototherapy at hospital, but ATM schedule just doesn't allow, so we decided to buy one for him to use at home.

Its basically blasting him with light. UVB I think. ( cannot remember this morning, fluffy head) DH is one of those people who needs sunlight and who suffers if he doesn't get enough.

MiL has this treatment in hospital. She talks of special creams, before and after. Thought I'd mention it in case you hadn't done more than buy the lamp.

She also requests us buy her certain Dead Sea (a cosmetic manufacturer) lotions and potions out here which are meant to help psoarisis that she can't get at home.

I should be getting my new front door at the end of Oct (so let's hope the weather isn't horrendous then).

I woke up today (always a bonus!) and decided I'd go to see the first door man on the way into town.

We had a good chat. He's not moved on the price, but I don't think he's ripping me off (he's very substantially cheaper than the second bloke, and it includes painting :)). He very clearly loves what he does and he came round to quote exactly when we arranged. No having to chase him to rearrange/ get the quote.

I'm fed up of thinking about the door so I decided to just go for it.

We went to see a friend's flat out here. their house in England is fairly standard, out here they have gone the opposite way. Their en-suite contains something like this http://i01.i.aliimg.com/photo/v0/1385072905/_font_b_two_b_font_font.jpg

but with a pop-up TV built in.

The picture really doesn't do it justice, the bath is wider and more swan pedalo shape as if about to glide across the room. We were amused.

Excellent, now 2 months to choose the colour.

    Colour is already done :)

The paint (+undercoat) for the outside is in the garage :)

I'm thinking of having the inside painted white as I'm not sure what colour the hall/ stairs/ landing is going to be, but I'm pretty sure the skirting boards etc will stay white.

Were they in it when you saw it?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

DH just had to moisturise in hospital, before and after. So that's what he'll do here. He moisturises A LOT anyway. :D. So we'll try and work it into the regime sensibly.

I have heard that about some Dead Sea stuff.

I recommend signing up for night school classes in motor mechanics, plumbing or DIY, as that's one place where men are likely to be found. If nothing else, you'll learn a useful skill. :)

Night classes have changed.... I doubt one'd find these subjects these days. And, if found, cost would be exhorbitant.

Last Govt diverted funds away from Adult Education into "free literacy classes", whereupon it was wasted/used up on teaching adults to read/write - often just wasted by colleges advertising it and not really having any students.

Meanwhile, proper learning classes "for all" shot up in price and were dropped by Colleges due to funding issues/take up. If you price courses (much) higher, fewer people can afford them, so then they're under-subscribed, then dropped.

Then any holes are filled with "funded places" for those on benefits in Spanish for Your Holidays and Belly Dancing.

It's all been a shambles for nigh on 20 years.

    An example course search: http://www.webenrol.com/SkillsAndLearningbdp/?page=search
    No woodwork, no carpentry.
