I agree that left over mash is an odd concept, but I'm puzzled how you would reheat it in a saucepan without it burning.

The two most difficult things for any dishwasher to cope with seem to be mashed potato and scrambled egg.

I would throw away left over mash. Yet somehow I am happy to have reheated mash on the top of shepherds pie or fish pie.

Another very difficult thing for the dishwasher is the skin of smoked haddock stuck to the pan after poaching in milk.

It's set to rain here for the next ten hours according to the forecast. Time for some housework.

I bought 'holiday' clothes this weekend. Three long sleeved tops, a warmer dress and today...a long light parka coat.

Cornwall Tues to Sunday. Not packing my sun hat, although the flip flops are coming.

OH keeps looking at the temperature in Cyprus, and has suggested sending me there.

Dunno if it is a midlands thing, but some people fry cold mash to re-heat it.

I've just dug out my bed order, & I can log onto their online system to review progress. I didn't know this, but dug out the order as it is due this week & haven't heard anything. So, logged in, & it is ready to deliver.

Annoyed, as if I'd known (how long has it been ready?), might have tried to get it delivered today. I can't have a day off at the mo, so need to get someone round here. This week isn't the best for my folks, as it is dads results wednesday.
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Just read a recipe for black berry and Pinot noir jam. :D

    .

At the Ag merchants today I was chatting to a lady whose 8 year old pony was blackberrying and impaled itself on Tues. It is in equine ICU, they have gone beyond their insurance and she was saying she was going to sell her trailer to help with further costs.

How awful, on some fencing or so etching in the fence line? Horses here are berry ing happily and the dogs usually do. Its only because of big dogs neck she is wary of doing so.

It's been raining since about 9am here - there was a period of about half an hour where it almost stopped. It has eased off from an outright downpour to just persistent drizzle now.

My job for today was to mow the lawn so I'm pretty pleased with the weather really!

My parents always used to do that - left over mash would be produced from the fridge on a Saturday morning, shaped into little cakes and fried along with the breakfast.

    Lovely on toast!

Positive vibes being emitted your dad's way.

The weather is vile. Someone has died in the local high street, I suspect the weather has a part to play as the bend there, although a large one, is almost always slow and relatively inoccuous. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt. :(

We forgot to turn cake pump on ( best done in rain) so I'll do it tomorrow. This is best really as it often trips switch over there and there still is freezer of dog meat over there. :D
