When you work out how to use the extendable saw thingy, let me know.
I found one abandoned here in the shed & need to work it out...

Not sure which you mean. One has a string, the other doesn't.

One with the string .... line up the bit of bush you want to chop off, so it's between the blades - pull the string and it cuts it off.

One without the string, it's just like shears, but the handles extend so you can reach a bit further ... and it snips thick twigs like matchsticks.

If you use the word 'dignity' with someone under the age of 30 then generally they'll look at you like you're an idiot.

That's something that's gone. The camera has the power, if you don't want to be filmed that's tough.
I don't think that manners, dignity, respect etc are the sole domain of the over 30's. I see equally as many over 30's as under 30's who are rude, ill mannered, disrespectful, anti-social etc.

"Oh - and here within a week of ordering it."

Aren't these often made to order? So, take more than a week. Big things to keep in stock, unless you are Ikea.
Bed I bought from dreams (no longer on website!) I was told in 5 weeks. That's next week.
    Fed up of waiting now...

Doesn't the one with the string also have a saw blade on?
I worked out the string makes the secateurs work, but am trying to figure out how to use the saw bit.

Not that I am aware of .... not the one I used before - and this one's still in the wrapper :) Hang on I'll look.

Edit: Blimey, you're right - it does. And it's a biggun! It's all still in the packet and I've not got a bright light and so I am not going to get it all out now and check. Maybe it's just a "handy saw that happens to fit onto a handily long handle" and nothing more.

Edit 2: Looking at picture 4, it looks like once you've got it lined up, pulling the string will make the spring open/close, which will pull the saw back/forth http://www.lidl.co.uk/en/our-offers-2491.htm?action=showDetail&id=15325

If you can't work it out I can photograph the small destruction set that comes with it.

BTW...Which board could I post on to ask about divorce and how it's done nowadays?

MIL (aged 70) wants to get a divorce but doesn't have a penny for legal fees and the ex is refusing to give her a small share of the house they lived in for 15 years as it was always his and he paid for the mortgage. However, she had 15k that they used to do a lot of work on it (re configured some stuff and sorted it out as it was a total mess prior)......+ that was when the house was worth about 60k.

He doesn't have any money either and can't re mortgage due to his age so it's stalemate. Can't get what someone doesn't have.

I read about Co op mediation? I haven't done too much research yet (as that's left to moi) but not sure where to start.
Legal aid of sorts is still available for relationship issues.
For divorce, usually if there is property or children, then a solicitor would be required. Moreso in this kind of case, as there will clearly be a dispute. She'll need to show her money was used to give her a beneficial interest in the home.
However I suspect that if they've actually married, that becomes kinda moot.
Definitely needs to look into a solicitor FC123.

I might have assumed - the one I found in the shed here does anyway.

  • Been AWOL - sister 1's 8 month old puppy Bertha died last night, and sister #1 is very upset, and also very cross.

The dog escaped out of an area that had been very carefully dog-proofed. When my Dad had last been in that field, he'd checked, and the gate was shut. Someone later in the day opened it and left it open - a someone who had no business so much as touching it, as it wasn't any of the family, there weren't any guests during the day, and it's not on a public footpath, or anything.

Bertha left via the gate, and was run over on the road. And the gate was wide open.
