I love tomatoes, including very over cooked, but I am not a fan of tinned ones.
Some random bloke who writes a blog about all you can eat breakfasts says that tinned ones are the correct type of tomatoes for a full English.
I've never liked/fancied halved tomatoes fried. I've eaten a few, over the years, just because it's all that was available, but I can "pass" on them entirely.
The AYCE Nikkster and I scoffed had the real tomatoes option.... I had one or two halves, just because it's a help yourself .... but I did notice they didn't have tinned tomatoes.
One of my favourite little breakfast joys is when I've gone the full hog and actually made fried bread. My fried bread is dark brown and not greasy .... so it's a lovely recipient for a couple of spoonfuls of lovely tomato juice.... fried bread and fried eggs are items I rarely bother with these days. It's easier/healthier (*glum look*) to just do scrambled eggs and toast.. It's the "ease" that cuts it with me .... s0d whether things are healthy or not
I also eat tinned tomatoes as the side vegetable to macaroni cheese. I usually eat a whole tin at a time - there's not much in a tin (3-4 plum tomatoes). So far, in my opinion, the Lidl ones are best of all the cheapest tins - a nice thick tomatoey sauce and the tomatoes are red..... some cheapo tins at supermarkets have almost orange tomatoes and watery liquid.0 -

Nobody is. Years ago, I worked in an old person's home as a porter. Tinned tomatoes arriving in crateloads, as they must have ticked several nutritional boxes.. Offered to all the residents and refused by all of them as well.
They used to go end up going into the swill bins round the back where one of my less pleasant jobs was to move them for collection. The secret was to somehow never inhale while carrying them or you'd soon find out how strong your stomach was. _pale_There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I'm with GDb on tinned toms I think. But I often leave toms at breakfast anyway. ( very odd personal reason)
If I want a tomato-y breakfast stewed toms ( from fresh) are the ticket. And perfect for any meal of the day. I love them, but rarely have them.. Weird.
I'm funny about tomatoes in any case, often find them too dominating.0 -

Me too. I will eat nearly anything but this is the thing I hate. Tinned tomatoes are a versatile ingredient and I use them a lot, but as the star of the show? So wrong.
If I were a celebrity, they'd put tinned tomatoes in my bushtucker trial.

I would be thrilled to be mistaken for you, too.
My house is a much safer environment for an escaped hamster than lir's - no large animals with teeth and claws, and modern construction so fewer places to hide. I am still happier when she is safely in the cage, though.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Nikkster's made some poor choices. Somebody's made life choices that will lead them directly into this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-28787676
If only we could see into the future to be able to make our choices today.0 -

The whole point of chocolate is it melts at the temperature it melts. That's part of the sensual appeal of it, the melt point.0 -

I sent that to DH yesterday, saying that'll teach him to take a job that requires you give six months notice to quit (previous one was 3 months). He starts new job tomorrow. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Good luck to Dr. Tifosi for tomorrowNot that I think for a moment that he needs it.
There is absolutely zero chance of me signing up for another PhD. And even less of anyone taking me on for one.
I'm sure I could think up some experiments involving chocolate and warm bodies though....
Not that that kind of thing has ever really appealed to me. But in the interests of advancing science
Edit: I've definitely made some significantly less wise choices in my time, I was slightly apprehensive about clicking on that link PN!0
