That's part of why I have kept my location!
With DG slating Birmingham (City I was born in, and lived in until aged 4, and Pastures writing off my adult life as someone who shops in JL...I am feeling a tad worthless).
However if anyone wants a friend from a cultural wasteland with shiny hair...you know where to find me.0 -

The dog escaped out of an area that had been very carefully dog-proofed. When my Dad had last been in that field, he'd checked, and the gate was shut. Someone later in the day opened it and left it open - a someone who had no business so much as touching it, as it wasn't any of the family, there weren't any guests during the day, and it's not on a public footpath, or anything.
Bertha left via the gate, and was run over on the road. And the gate was wide open.
Oh that is sad. I am sorry hear it. Gates and strangers:mad:
We have wire stretched across our post and rail fence by the stile. Some ramblers complain it is hard to get their dog in. We explain it makes it hard for our dog to get out.0 -

My hair is only occasionally shiny but I am happy to be your friend if you can put up with my shortcomings.0 -

After OH left for his camping thing, Kermie, Isaac and I went to Waitrose - OH isn't that keen on fish, and Isaac and I took advantage of his absence to buy fish for dinner. We ended up with a big slab of reduced cod for £3, down from £14. And half a kilo of smoked haddock for £3, too.
That was a bargain. I had smoked haddock for breakfast this morning it was about half a kilo and cost £7. I poached it in milk, and had it with HM seeded bread. Then the dog had the leftover milk. Fishy milk is his favourite.0 -
Nobody is. Years ago, I worked in an old person's home as a porter. Tinned tomatoes arriving in crateloads, as they must have ticked several nutritional boxes.. Offered to all the residents and refused by all of them as well.
They used to go end up going into the swill bins round the back where one of my less pleasant jobs was to move them for collection. The secret was to somehow never inhale while carrying them or you'd soon find out how strong your stomach was. _pale_
I loved tinned plum tomatoes and they were a very good staple of my weight regime....until I developed an allergy to them and ended up the same colour as the blooming things, very itchy and very miserable.
Poor Bertha, horrible thing to have happen. Hugs to your sister NDG
Can I put my/our name down too please FC?We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I've only ever been in JL once.....we have now got one about a 15 minute drive away and I keep meaning to go in but haven't as yet.
Much like Waitrose, never been in one of them. Or Ikea...We made it! The only tomato I eat is in ketchup; can't bear the texture, not too keen on the taste.
Ketchup at breakfast really upsets me. I can understand with sausage ( just) and bacon, might even do it myself occasionally. Catsup and egg / omlette around a family only table / flat shares is something that I would excuse my self from the table from. Its the strongest part of my weird ness of tomato/ egg. Red/yellow dislike.:o0 -
