I've had a third visitor, who was mostly confined to outdoors as they had a dog .... who promptly pee'd up my shed :)

I don't suppose the dog knew which way to look...

Lucky it isn't leather as they do it in black and white and we definitely don't need a new sofa.

Last night for our last student, it will be quiet without them... or would be if our kids weren't so noisy, lets hope school starts back soon.
    I think....

Hope do your children enjoy the student's presence?

They love it, it has been like having two extra big sisters, sister's who don't have that much of a social life or homework so have lots of time for trampolining and loom bands.

I found this story amusing, is Schadenfreude a German word?: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-28819625

Up, bathed, out the door ...... now the proud new owner of:

    http://www.lidl.co.uk/en/our-offers-2491.htm?action=showDetail&id=15325 and http://www.lidl.co.uk/en/our-offers-2491.htm?action=showDetail&id=15328

    :)

I made a coffee before I left the house and it was still hot when I got back .... I drove, although it's only 300 paces to the door (yes, I counted the other day) .... but I wasn't sure how unwieldy/heavy these items would be - and/or whether I'd buy something else I spotted.... so I took the car "to be sure".

These were on my "To Get" list, so that's two items off the list :) although I didn't know they did the loppers.... I've a neighbour bush that likes to grow over my shed so I'd identified I needed those, having first encountered/used them at my dad's house when a bush had grown and was making the security light go on/off/on/off one stormy night.... so I know they are within the scope of my capability.
When you work out how to use the extendable saw thingy, let me know.
I found one abandoned here in the shed & need to work it out...

I'e just met with a lovely man from Hereford & Worcester Chamber of Commerce. For the record, he does look like Simon Bird of Inbetweeners fame but a little more handsome.

I don't think FIR looks like Simon Bird, he reminds me very much of Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall - it may be the voice, which is almost indistinguishable to me, but he has similar hair.

I have a thing about voices, I think. My good friend sounds just like Claudia Winkleman. If you close your eyes, you're in the room with her.

Who do the other Nice People get told they look/sound like? I've been told twice recently that I look like Rebecca Adlington. On both occasions by drunken chav types. I'm not sure if I look like her to only drunken chav types, or whether drunken chav types are the only people that feel the need to voice it to a stranger. :)

There was a thing on facebook a few years ago where you had to post your profile pic as the famous person people say you look like. At the time, I posted Miyam Bialik from when she was Blossom. My friend who sounds like Claudia Winkleman posted a picture of Jimmy Saville (pre-Yew Tree) as her husband says she had the same haircut.
I don't sound like anyone famous. I'm hesitant to say I could be argued to look like the blimmin milky bar kid!

If you're feeling brave you could try the relationships board.... good luck!

April next year I might completely footloose and fancy free (what a thought!). I will be available for weekends away :) I don't have pets or children, but I do have mystery shopping experience if that helps.

...that's perfect. Bring a couple of mates too.

Isn't that the sort of thing the CAB is supposed to be able to advise about? Not that they had a clue when I asked them about my situation, but maybe that was just the particular advisor that I saw. I think there are divorce forums where you can get info too.

    Oooh scary. *shudders*

Sounds exciting. It's in Margate, isn't it? How big is it - as in how many people does it sleep?

Currently, there are just 2 , a 3 bed / 2 bath house and 2 bed seafront flat. The Dream House will have another one in the annexe but we have to re-build it 1st so that won't be ready next year.
There was to be 3rd after today but the building was shot (tatty etc)and a conversion, however nice, in a shot building is a PITA so it's a no go. I'll keep looking. It must have a great sea view, that's the only criteria.

FC if you use usenet, there is a group uk.legal.moderated that you may get help on.

    Two points:

With current case law the starting point for a divorce settlement after a long marriage is 50/50. Some assets are not marital assets, and they may not get divided 50/50. Something thee husband owned pre marriage could fall into that category. However, the family home is always a marital asset. So, the husband can't hold onto it. If necessary it will have to be sold and the proceeds divided.

Second point is what The wife is going to do about it? Unless she is capable of standing up for herself, or paying a lawyer to stand up for her, she is going to get shafted by what sounds like a very adamant, if not a bullying, husband.

....which is why we got her out in the end. Big snag is she is somewhat 'helpless' and not very bright / educated (without wanting to sound rude) and thinks 'they' will make him give her a share. It's difficult to explain to her that it doesn't work like that as there is no magic 'they'.

Eventually, I reckon. she'll end up with us either in the self contained 3 bed flat on 2nd floor of dream house or in the annexe.
    Thanks for the link.

I don't have time to finish my catch up now ...still quite a few pages to go......it's busy here isn't it?

That's not true about where I live. I live in a cultural wasteland. It is hard to find things that I like, but patience pays off. Birmingham is a wasteland when it comes to having good taste and good taste that you don't mind selling.

    *coughs* ;)

That's part of why I have kept my location! :D

Hmm we'd better put our name down quick before the mystery shopping slots all get taken, sea view sounds good.

Not sure if I said how good it is to have you back FC, I remain amazed at how much you and DH achieve, love your old house although having seen the 'back' picture I would never have guessed what the front would look like. The new house is amazing and demonstrates just what is wrong with the McMansions a few pages back on this thread.

The only alcoholic drinks I like are vodka, tequila, red wine, port, Baileys and Pimms.

I love a good tequila night.

    Dangerous, but fun. :D

Please tell me not the cheap stuff though...

I'm rather fond of a decent reposado or anejo after spending so many years in the southern USA.

    Plum update.

DH has managed to cut a path through to them all. The Victoria and the unknown blue one we'd reached before were straight forward. Never before uncovered maroony laden thing took longer, and just a narrow path, but its not yet ripe, or maybe its something that doesn't quite ripen like a damson or a bullace? Not very good with these stone fruits.

Anyway I'll ask on my green fingered thread.
I've an apple tree in my garden.
    They're not crab apples.
I wish I knew what kinda apple tree it is.
