Very difficult to wear yellow.
I noticed that Phase Eight have a good range of party wear. Not sure if that suits your look or budget.
I'm sort of trying to avoid anything highstreet because am leaving too late really and risk of wearing the same is high.
Might try and make myself. If cannot find anything, but if I do find anything will buy. Gulp.
Only thing I am ATM half motivated to buy I only like 60percent, and mainly because its a little odd, rather than stylish, ( so suits me rather than the event) and its not really colours I would choose or anything. Because its dh's event, while he is happy for me to go dressed as me I feel I might try doing the grown up thing and going in an actual cocktail dress sort of thing in a subdued colour, with no sewn on birdies, or flowers and stuff. Trying to behave in, how did PN describe me t'other day? The way a MIDDLE AGED woman probably should think about behaving.
Wasn't really looking at yellow, just inspiration. Not finding it. Well, found one, but too insubstantial, and beefing it up to cover a bra will make it look matronly.
Though actually, I quite like yellow lighter yellow. If I make I am thinking of bronze or coppery colours, dark, so sober. But not totally not me. I think I could wear that with my pink/ gold shoes?
Edit: thinking about it I have a pale gold shift I might be able to let out a bit .. I'll try and dig that out this week end. Its boring enough, if not dark, if I can get in it. Its sort of smart day dressy though. ( though in this country that passes for evening!) hmm.

Viva, you want Sukkot. It begins 8 October, and people will want to collect the laurel in the preceding week.
Are you going to let your 'customers' loose on your laurel bushes? PYO-style. If so, you'll probably need to trim them up afterwards. I tend to cut pieces 30 to 50 cms long, and lots of different people cutting odd chunks out may not produce the nice neat finish you want.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Did you build this?
It looks lovely. What does it symbolise? Is it for sleeping in/dining in/praying in?0 -
Yep, definitely caught between her buttocks whilst wearing a thong.
Not a good look.
Unfortunate. It's the type of dress where you would be looking to the floor to see if she was trailing toilet roll stuck to her shoes.Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

No, it was a random photo on the www. They are mainly for dining in, at least in this country in October. In Israel, October is lovely weather for sitting and even sleeping in your succah.
WP says: "The sukkah is intended as a reminiscence of the type of fragile dwellings in which the Israelites dwelt during their 40 years of travel in the desert after the Exodus from slavery in Egypt. Throughout the holiday, meals are eaten inside the sukkah and some people sleep there as well. "No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
That dress! Such a shame to have gone to the trouble of making it. Couldn't they see it was hopeless from the drawings? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I've seen some awful ones browsing on line today. And things that would be great on barbie, a sort of teenage pink fluffy thing somehow needing a cocktail dress come tutu.
Still beautiful things, fun to look at. There is a great market for flimsy nothings, then it jumps to matronly. Already feel like suggesting DH goes alone0 -
There is a great market for flimsy nothings,
Some of the sundresses sold relatively cheaply in smart department stores would look like party wear in the right setting.
This sort of thing:

Don't lose heart.
Would it be worth going somewhere and trying a few things on.
It can be difficult when you are not so well..as you might think there is nothing that makes you feel great, but there may be something that makes you feel better.
When is the event?0
