Best of luck, hope you get it sorted, soon.
When best mate and I were in Russia, we tried to register with the police office as required within X hours of arrival in Russia. Eventually we were told that we couldn't register in Moscow (where we'd always intended to visit first, and had received our "invitation" from for our visa) because our visas had been authorised in St. Petersburg. We couldn't get there in time to register without coughing up several hundred quid we didn't have.
Best mate asked, reasonably and politely, what we could do next. The KGB charm school graduate said, "This is not my problem. This is your problem" and closed her service window.
I can believe that.......
Getting the initial immigration permits was a nightmare, too. IIRC the quota for 1999 was 122000 permits, but only 900 of these were for Moscow City.
On the other hand, nearly 4000 were for Moscow Oblast, which was still rejeced, and I managed to get temporary residence for the first year in Rostov (and studied at the uni there) until I received permenant residence, at which point I studied in Moscow and resided in Korolyov (Moscow Oblast). Had it not worked like that, I wouldn't have met OH, so I suppose it worked well both ways.
With regard to anything to do with the Russian government, I hold a strict policy of not offering bribes, but in situation like this, if it's offered by the other party, it's unfortunately necessary to use that......💙💛 💔0 -

Viva, you want Sukkot. It begins 8 October, and people will want to collect the laurel in the preceding week.
Are you going to let your 'customers' loose on your laurel bushes? PYO-style. If so, you'll probably need to trim them up afterwards. I tend to cut pieces 30 to 50 cms long, and lots of different people cutting odd chunks out may not produce the nice neat finish you want.
Thanks GDB. That's really helpful. I guess for starters we should identify whether we have Jewish people living here as they may want them. We do like a well trimmed Bush around these parts though, we have estate gardeners who are always on site cutting the lawns and bushes. It makes it an attractive place to live. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? For example, in terms of sheer impact on number of people's lives, the leading political roles in China and India are hard to beat in the power stakes - a billion or so each.
In terms of the lengths to which one can go, whatshisname in North Korea can, apparently, do absolutely anything. So, maybe, him.
Or leaders of giant cults like the Mormons are pretty damn powerful in other ways.
I was silently thinking 'wife of many of the above'.

Karl lagerfeld, one of only two chicks this year I have names yet, is indeed a boy. Poor karl.
He's all white and not fluffy, our first white non fluffy chicken, so he looks a little like a broiler anyway.0 -

Horrible colour, as well as the "stuck in knickers" thing.
What kind of dress do you think, LIR? Long? Knee? Short? Sleeveless, long sleeves, etc?
Just below swollen knee. Either sleeve less I can wear with a 'thing' on top or sleeves, but not grandma sleeves. Whether that's short ish or full length I don't mind. Need to be able to get a bra under it.
Comfortable is reasonably important these days.
No glitter, dark preferably. Not blue.
Meh. I'll find something.0 -

I've used/built several of these before (other brands) and never had a problem, so it's not because I'm useless (this time). I know what I am bad at .... and what I am OK with .... and can separate the two. This should have been straight forward.
Pastures, I'd actually call Ikea and see what they say. Under the Sale of Goods Act they have to sell goods that aren't faulty, whether or not you bought them in June and irrespective of whether you kept the receipt. It isn't as though you could go buy the same product elsewhere and pass it off as theirs.
Of course, if it costs more in petrol to get there and back than the cost of the wardrobe, then that is a different issue. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? No comment from Michaels yet?
Only a small minority of Jews actually get round to building a succah. So, your bush is not going to be assaulted by hundreds of trimmers. Also, like the majority of Christmas trees have gone plastic, many succah owners have stopped using laurel. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I thought michaels put an add on freecycle/ gumtree one year and found people happy to visit and cut down.
I don't know where exactly you live, other than it is probably north of here. Even if you have Jewish people in your area, I doubt there are many that are religious enough to build a sukkah and cover it with laural. Then again you only need one or two people. Maybe worth a call to your local synagogue. If you are going to do an ad in gumtree/ freecycle do it in the area where there are more likely to be people in need.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
