In winter we tend to leave the door open to the cloakroom and bathroom (except when in use of course:eek:). If it gets really cold, we have a little pull cord fan heater in each. That warms up the room in about 5 minutes if needed.
We ended up turning off rad in downstairs loo with new heating. It was just unnecessary..

That is very spacious.
Now I have downstairs loo envy. A depressive condition that can only be solved by imagination, money and builders.
For a room not designed for spending time in, it is a waste to give it too much room.
Until so many of you commented how big it is, I hadn't thought of it as big. In fact, my first thought on the grey theme was that we better have light grey on the walls so it won't appear small!
I bought that grey towel to co-ordinate and was thinking of sourcing a similar colour soap dispenser. Now I'm thinking it may be nice to introduce a contrasting colour, so maybe a bright red towel, pot pouri bowl and picture.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Either that they don't radiate heat or that they go rusty? Or both. Or something completely different :rotfl:
Eventually I expect my bathroom will have a heated towel rail. Until then there is the towel rack that I put over the radiator during my first supervised attempt with the drill. Still makes me smile when I hang my towels on it
That is exactly the arrangement we installed. The old towel rail was leaking, and it had never heated the bathroom properly anyway. So we installed the largest radiator I could find that would fit the space, and then installed a simple unsheathed towel rail over that. We now have a warm bathroom, warm towels.
Most heated towel rails give out very little heat compared to a proper radiator. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I think contrasting would be lovely silvercar. But you don't have to go the whole hog. White towel and soap and a beautiful picture would be enough.
I find it hard to remember what hand towel is on the go in the bathroom so I only change weekly ( but there are two in there) but they are white one week, charcoal the next. Both fit with colour scheme and saves me wondering which are barely used but dirty.0 -
Saw the International Space Station for the first time this evening. It went across about 40 minutes ago, so I stood outside (still wearing my apron from making redcurrant jelly earlier in the evening) by my car, shielding my eyes against the nearby street lights, trying to look nonchalant as passers-by passed by.
I know it's only a bright fast moving speck in the sky, but it still felt a little special.
And Great British Bake Off is back, hurrah!0 -

We might do this in our bathroom. I want a rad in there for the cats to sleep on and on which to dry knickers.0 -

Silver's new loo is far too good to use. I hope she'll make guests go outside, to pee in the flower bed.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
So I finally ran out of tiredness, at bedtime.
I also forgot my happy pill today and have been a bit....brittle. Who knew that happened so quickly?
Ironically, for the first time in ages , I am annoyed I cannot sleep0
