OH had a work trip to Denmark today. Up at 4am, flight home was delayed 4 hours- he's due to land soon. Then he has to find his way home from Stansted with the M11 still shut following an accident hours ago and the A1 shut for overnight roadworks. :(

That is EXACTLY what it looked like.

Face feels hot. Just been to look in mirror. Have burnt my face and neck, and also the rims of my ears, at school sports day today. :o

    Ouch! Aloe vera gel?

I have teeny tiny tomatoes and teeny tiny round carrots (I think those ones are supposed to be teeny tiny and round) and teeny tiny courgettes :j

I'm more than a teeny tiny bit excited :)

Yay! I adore corgettes at the moment - I've cooked them with lentils, tomatoes, onions and garlic several times recently.

Use the A120 or B1383 as a starting ground (2nd entering Stansted from the back via long-stay) and divert as necessary. Other option is the M11 N-bound, which is still open, but that's depending how far up the M1 you want.

Just checked the Autocab for you, and traffic on both local routes above have eased, however M11 is still showing shut (updated 7 minutes ago) South of J8.

I heard that there was bit of a 'sticky' situation.

Enoyed the Honourable Woman tonight (but then I enjoyed the ShadowLine very much although it was a slow starter).

Caught up with the end of the second series of The Americans, and wondering if I should go back and watch the first series. SC, would you recommend that?
Trying to catch up with Fargo and it's really good as well.

Got to go to central London tomorrow. Came to London almost thirty years ago but am finding I need to visit the centre less and less. Trying to think of somewhere cheap and nice to grab a bite to eat. Places like Nikkster would know like Tayyabs will probably be shut for Ramadan, so any suggestions for nice but cheap food in Chinatown would be welcome.

We grow aloe vera in a pot by the front door. Its hard to kill over here quite honestly. I've never managed it despite several years of trying.

We made the buscuit things as suggested (Mrs Generali and I). The angels have their dancing trousers on!

    Give this quiz a try?

    http://vocabulary.ugent.be/wordtest/test

"On the basis of your results, we estimate you know 90% of the English words.

You said yes to 90% of the existing words.

You said yes to 0% of the nonwords.

    This gives you a corrected score of 90% - 0% = 90%"

    I did it 3 times, got 87%, 84% and 90%.

It's not painful. Just a bit warm and rather red. :)

91%. Not going to push my luck by doing it again. ;)

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I just found out that I'm not going to have my contract renewed at the end of the year which is annoying as I quite like this job. Best dust off the CV...

Sorry to hear that, Gen. Maybe it fits in with the whole reassessing life thing that you're thinking about at the moment. Whatever happens it'll mean new opportunities.
