VW eos, 1.4 in black.
If I was going to go for it, I'd call then, drop a deposit, go, test drive etc, agree purchase, & arrange to return & collect it I guess.
What's BCA?
Given the cost of travelling that far perbps you would be better off paying for an AA inspection to be done remotely and then use that to agree a price before travelling?I think....0 -
I never chose a car colour to match the house.
I guess I'm just not posh enough for this thread...

Neither am I. Although I do know somebody who chose a dog colour to match the carpet.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Got here a bit before 10pm yesterday... Seeing as we only left at 7pm it was a pretty good journey for us. Advantage of travelling in the evening on a weekday is that the roads were nice and quiet. Problem with it is that I had to watch the speedometer like a hawk as OH has a tendency to let the speed creep up on emptyish roads!
Our very kind next door neighbour watered my flowers, so we haven't lost any.
Chopped some leaves off the tomatoes as a few were a bit yellowed (prob lack of water, but we've had several full Smith periods recently, so don't want to risk blight). Deadheaded a load of other stuff, and it's all looking quite colourful. We have a lot of alpine strawberries! :j
OH spent most of the day sorting out Ruddy Duck (the boat) and 3 strong blokes came up with a landrover and trailer and she's on her way to the harbour as I type.

That's OH climbing out of the cockpit, looking his usual dishevelled self! :rotfl:
For anyone into classic sailing boats the full set of pics is here.0 -
Back... didn't get everything on the list. Only bought one extra item in the marketplace, but it was something that'd have been on the list if I'd known about them.... a set of six plastic beakers for 90p.
I bought: two open pine shelving units, cheap table as recommended by silvercar, 3 floor ruglets, beakers, a floor lamp, floor protector pads. I think that's it. £54.60.
Saw a nice chaise longue .... reduced for today only from £250 to £99 and although it was nice and I could have bought it .... I didn't expect it and I was looking for a sofa. So I left it. I am not good at impulse buys. If I'd already had it on the list, then with the discount I'd have bought it. Saw some drawers that would be fine, but I didn't want to buy drawers today - they were on the list of "things to look at". Identified a good solution for kitchen seating. Looked at the table/chairs I had in mind for the kitchen.
It was hot in there, too darned hot. Way too hot. We sat and dossed about and ate for an hour or so; I had the chickpea biryani and chips, the rest all had salmon/spinach lasagne (maybe because they're posher than me).
There were 5 of us .... well, 4.25, so you might be able to guess who else was there

Sounds as though you had a lovely time with the other NP, and a pretty successful shopping trip too, so all good except the heat.

I have been exhaustingly getting stuff done today. I feel I've done a lot, but there's still masses to do before Sunday, which is the next time stuff is going to happen that I have to be ready for.
Now to make a phone call and put a load of washing in. That will be two more items off my list.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? I wish I'd spotted the 60p Hot Dogs earlier.... I'd have planned to buy one to eat in the car after I'd finished shopping. They are after the checkout.
You pay for parking there, if you spend £20 and get your ticket validated at the checkout, you get up the 3 hours refunded. I was in there 6 hours, so got the parking reduced by £2.80 down to £2.80. Also, I now know it's best to park on level 4 as that's where the entrance is and any other parking level is a pain in the butt as it involves trolley escalators or lifts.
Most exciting thing I bought was (hopefully) the lamp. http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10184174/
It comes packed in a flat box, the size of a tiny pizza box, but weighs quite a bit as the base must be weighted.
Many straws were bought by two NPs.... I've never bought a single straw in my life
If anybody visits me, they should expect to be glad that I bought 6 plastic/stacking beakers for 90p, so there's something to drink squash from other than a regular mug.0
