I struggle to see what I have done wrong.
It was not personal..it is as others describe..it epitomises a disconnect we have between work and opportunity, and the promotes the gambling/squandering of the needs of the next generation to satisfy the greed of this one. That is not 'you' it is 'us'.
I feel the post war generation had better ethics.
I am a beneficiary of a now too generous public sector pension scheme..but I took it at a time when I traded a higher cash package for a safer mix of benefits..and keep cars forever then ebay them if I must (I have had one car for 30 years).
No justification required, I can only imagine the challenge of repeating your parents 'property achievements' and know you do not like the usual earning an income model currently bogging a few of us down.
This is just a challenge in the spirit of the board.0 -
Spirit I hope your pension investments are going up in value and that each time you trade in your car and get a new one you get the best price on the old one.
I tried to turn one house into two, the planners didn't want this due to nimby protests despite this having been done on an identical (slightly smaller plot) within quarter of a mile. During that time the price of the asset has risen. I struggle to see what I have done wrong.
The price is simply the price. There is no morality to it unless you have a monopoly andso can set price.0 -

and he won't return the favour because he thinks its 'sweet' That said on the very rare occasion DH snores now I do kinda like it but I think that's entering the world of sickeningly lovey dovey.

I didn't know if it was when I started. It wasn't one hundred percent effective, more like hmmm, maybe......, maybe, 96 percent? Not sure exactly.
I really wish he'd try with me.:o:o:o I've told him how but he won't. He says I don't do it often, but....hm, I wake up with a dry, yucky mouth sometimes.
Neither of us care to try with the critters, its cute when they do it. Relaxing.0 -
Broadband speed test...
Earlier today:
Download 29.50 Mbps
Upload 2.38 Mbps
Now:
Download 33.47 Mbps
Upload 3.53 Mbps
This is using wireless, OH has the wire plugged into his computer as it doesn't have the wireless capability. Might nick it sometime and try the test again.

I'm still so bloody tired after the treatment. Yesterday I had to go for a 40 minute snooze at work in the sick room. Today I thought I was going to fall asleep at my desk. This is driving me bananas.
I suspect you're generally not the most patient (don't mean that in a bad way), so you're feeling frustrated by the restrictions your body is imposing on you. Imagine a cyclist breaking a leg in a tour race. Once the leg/bone has healed, he/she wouldn't go straight back into a race, but would train & build themselves back up. You need to do similar.
With the radio, there's little visible, so you fall into the trap that all others will - nothings changed, so why can't you just do the stuff you've always done?
radio is a fairly big thing. However you will be getting stronger each day. In 2 weeks, you'll notice that your stamina will have improved. Instead of hitting the wall at 2pm, it'll be 3pm.
You'll get there matey.:)lostinrates wrote: »I decided to take yesterday and today 'off' to sleep. I woke up yesterday afternoon but stayed lying down, today I just felt like getting up a couple of hours ago. :j. I'm just going to pootle, not do anything. But a lot of my swelling on head and extremities has gone down, so I feel it was probably right time to get up.
I want to pop out tomorrow morning. I have a dog/ house sitter coming in this week so want to make a nice meal for them and stuff and I want to fill up with petrol. Then I'll nap tomorrow.
These things those of us used to fatigue are sort of second nature, the planning to reduce impact, but for Gen, he won't think of himself , and shouldn't, as so depleted. He just needs a bloody decent holiday, a restful one. Where Activity is possible but not mandatory, so , like me today, he can get up IF he feels like it! and gradually do stuff! and start to pick up fitness again while relaxed during a decent break. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
We've been with Scottish Power for some years now. Hopped from fix to fix and I was reasonably happy with them. Competitive prices, online account, no standing charge, correctly set direct debit...etc...
But earlier this year it all went tits up, they raised my direct debit for no reason while I was still comfortably in credit (and right before summer!), you just can't get hold of anyone on the phone, let alone online.
Then managed to get a refund, but they applied it double debit on the online account, other random debits appear...it's a complete and utter mess.
When my fix is up in November, I'm off.
I don't mind paying a bit more, I just have no patience for this.
If you or any other NP has a suggestion, I'd love to hear it.Take off the back and get a vacum cleaner in there. That's pretty impressive, only four of you. I tried to imagine a USP like that. There's a taxi firm near us where all the drivers are women. That is very popular for picking up single women at night and doing the school run.
Perhaps you paint your tractor units pink? Nah, I don't think so. What can it be?

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Whoa! Sure I heard somewhere that will fry mother boards or something. That's ok for cd players, but not pcs or laptops.
Someone does:

I think some vacuum cleaners generate a lot of static that could really mess things up badly. Having said that I've earthed a vacuum cleaner and swept the inside of at least one computer (a tower) from a short distance away and found absolutely tons of dust and fluff comes out. Their fans suck it in all the time. Not sure a laptop could take it.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
