This is a terrible, terriblE secret admission.
When people Skype /face time me they cannot hear me ( or see me because I cover the camera) and they send me and tell me to vacuum the Vent y bit.
I refuse to do either, I have Skyped once and it was once too much. I excel at not doing things, if I have no desire to do them:o.
I'm mainly picturing them applying for a mortgage and getting turned down and wondering why.
Because they didn't arrange to forward their post. About a month ago I received a statement from a credit card company in Mr Bugslets name - heavens only knows the last time he used it and there has been no activity in years. Rather than have to go through a lot of faff, I rang and pretended that I had bought the house recently and had no death certificate blah blah and that he was nothing to do with me. I do feel quite bad about the last part of the sentence, but I really get fed up of sending stuff out, particularly now that 7 months has elapsed.
I have no idea about broadband speeds, I finally got a laptop and a dongle. I may get round to using them at home one day, obviously got to used to not having a computer at home!0 -
I think some vacuum cleaners generate a lot of static that could really mess things up badly. Having said that I've earthed a vacuum cleaner and swept the inside of at least one computer (a tower) from a short distance away and found absolutely tons of dust and fluff comes out. Their fans suck it in all the time. Not sure a laptop could take it.

DW, who is perfect in every way, occasionally snores gently. I find it lovely to listen to. It feels companionable without requiring any conversation effort on my part. Mind you, she doesn't snore loudly enough to raise the rafters.
If a partner snores loudly, it may be a sign of sleep disordered breathing, which is a serious medical condition, that needs to be treated. Particularly, if they stop snoring for a minute then start gasping for breath.
I don't believe you can train someone not to snore, but you can train them to sleep on their side, which reduces snoring.
HTH.
You can buy sticky strips that you put across the bridge of your nose that are meant to work. My friend secretly sticks them on her husband while he is asleep and snoring.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. When we moved in here we had bailiffs turning up and charity workers who had paid for stuff that was never delivered. The bailiffs were more polite than the charity workers.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Zag said "I've earthed...." but didn't say how he did that .... it's probably best not to do it until you know how he did that. This is the important bit as it means "I did something so that if any nasty static/similar were flying around, they'd not fry my machine, but would magically disappear elsewhere......"
I know when I've fiddled in the back of my PC I've constantly gripped the metal inside/cage to do this .... making it tricky to then do anything else as I've only had one hand freePC engineers have a clip on wristband, they wear a wristband with a wire and crocodile clip, which they clip to the metal case.

I wasn't going to undo the back, just wave the hoover nozzle near the vents in the laptop. I don't know if that would be close enough contact to cause static in the innards.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. If anyone sees any good laptop deals (not macs) please post. Cheap as I can get away with.
Very expensive having a child at home. This week's purchases include a beard trimmer, replacement phone screen and protein shake. Plus a request for a new laptop and a double bed!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Does she take it off again before they wake up?!
No, he is vaguely aware that she is looming over him with the nose strips while asleep. It does make you wonder what else she could get away with.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. The more serious medical condition occurs when the throat relaxes during sleep. The airway closes up, and the sleeper cannot breathe for a minute or two. Oxygen saturation drops in the blood, sleeper awakens, breathes, goes back to sleep. That cycle can be repeated 30 times an hour during the night. It puts a strain on the heart and leads to daytime sleepiness. It may occur only during some parts of the sleep routine, eg during REM sleep. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
