This is using wireless, OH has the wire plugged into his computer as it doesn't have the wireless capability. Might nick it sometime and try the test again.
Virgin is our ISP.
To make the best possible use of that upload speed, you would need to type that message in 0.001 of a second. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I think two of the previous tenants (not the owners) have had a CCJ against them for not setting a bill. I'm guessing it was something along the lines of they thought it had all been sorted and the account closed down, but it turned out it hadn't. I've been returning all post for previous people to the sender. One pair of letters had a court address on the back. It was returned to sender and I wrote that the property had been sold (+ date) on the envelope.
Since last week things have been turning up with return addresses of insolvency practitioners  I opened one last week (after the couple of glasses of wine) and I think CCJs have been issued (it was junk mail, but stated CCJ)
I feel really guilty. I guess I could have got in contact with the previous owners and asked for contact details? Or emailed the local Uni, explained and asked the students to contact me (guessing they wouldn't give out email addresses). There was no post left here when I moved in (guess EA cleared it out).
I did have one note asking me to call if there was any post. Nothing arrived for a couple of weeks so I binned the note
I feel terrible.
First off, it is their responsibility. In addition, they should have informed the creditor of the change of address. The fact they haven't tells its own story (based on my experience).
2nd, it is very likely that they are aware.
3rd, if insolvency practitioners are sending junk mail to the address, that suggests they are a looooong way down the debt line, and there are other creditors. CCJ is the very first step (then there are numerous further steps before you even get close to insolvency practitioners).
Had you forwarded the stuff on, then you'd still be receiving the correspondence now anyway. But I don't think they knew they were 'in debt'. I really think they thought their account had been properly closed.
I'm mainly picturing them applying for a mortgage and getting turned down and wondering why.
To a much, much lesser extent I'm picturing bailiffs turning up, and angry ex-tenants turning up
Ex-tenants will run the other way.
I would suggest you do a credit reference check though. It may even be beneficial to put letters of disassociation on the file, to make sure none of this affects YOUR credit rating. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Post opened was just junk mail - they must publish lists of CCJs issued incl names and addresses.
I'll email the Uni. That's better than doing nothing.
What is published, is bankruptcy applications. As far as I am aware, bankruptcies are the only ones published. I'm not 100% on debt relief orders, but admin orders, attachment of earnings orders and other stages of debt recovery are not published. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
The price is simply the price. There is no morality to it unless you have a monopoly andso can set price.lemonjelly wrote: »Is it possible to train someone not to snore? It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0

Question. How long does/should it take for a solicitor to register stuff with land registry etc?
Completion was over 2 months ago now. Haven't had the deeds yet, & another deed the solicitor was due to draw up. Plus, had requested details for drawing up a will.
Is over 2 months usual for a solicitor to tie up all the stuff? It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Very happy, we got it when they were brand new to the market about 3 ish years ago and it has been great when away from home as you can connect multiple devices to it at the same time wirelessly, unlike the old dongles where you could connect only one.
Ok, as it is the first model, it is a bit clunky to get started and you have to press lots of buttons in a certain order (which changes every time you blooming use it!) but it is a great little bit of kit.
Mum has got a newer one which is an absolute doddle to get switched on, press the power button and that is it!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I thought you might to take a look at this house, seeing as we hope to do a drive by tomorrow.
Might well delete this later if can find it again <rolls eyes>0 -

Whoa! Sure I heard somewhere that will fry mother boards or something.
It never has for me. Its just a way to get all the dust and crud out of the fan. What happens is dust and hair gets caught in the fan and then stuff gets caught up in the dust and hair. I normally give it a quick hoover, get in with my fingers and give it another hoover.
PC World recommends that you use a can of compressed air (a quid or so from a camera shop) to get the crud out.0
