I am owed nothing.
I genuinely enjoyed it all, apart from squirting myself in the eye with 'extra powerful, super concentrated' washing up liquid. That hurt rather a lot! No-one else to blame but myself though
You're very much safe for a while, I have Things to Do. At the rate I'm going I'll be unable to leave the house without a winch before too long anyway! (have had a stack of chorizo and half a pack of fake jaffa cakes on top of my dinner tonight. Oops).
When(ever) you come to stay here it will definitely still be a hotch potch of things to do!0 -

I'm sure you might have appreciated it being ignored, rather than me making some panicky cooing noises and a constant barrage of questioning over how it's going.
It's not that I didn't feel (guilt) it was a bit of a disaster and painful and nasty and horrible ... I just didn't know how to respond appropriately and do the "polite" thing and enquire how it was going.... iyswim.
So I did my "say nothing" bit.
My parents would've said "You'll live". They'd have been right0 -

Indeed they would. It really was all my fault
Nothing more anyone could have done - I did everything I could by taking out my contact lens, trying to manoeuvre my eye under a tap for a bit and then just letting my eye sort itself out.
It did cause much hilarity at work though... More than it would do at most workplaces I expect!0 -
Oh, and in response to Lydia's question - I met up with my friend who lives next to Harry Potter yesterday. We thought we'd make the most of being [STRIKE]childless spinsters[/STRIKE] footloose and fancy free to make loose plans to meet up and see where the day took us. We met up much later than planned as we both failed to get going and out of the door, looked in a couple of shops, ate a lot of Thai food (washed down with a bottle of Thai wine), then went for a very leisurely walk (with plenty of pauses). A quick drink, then we made our ways back home.
Was lovely. Very chilled out. Though it was hot, hot, hot!
Thai rack on George Street?I'm slightly surprised that creosote does not sting or cAuse more serious harm. It's powerful enough to kill funguses that attack wood, after all.
Keeping your wood safe from fungus is very important, failed multi-quote but glad all is tested and working A-OK.
Another failed multi-quote, FIRs special horn, today's thread is just one long snigger....I think....0 -

Can't they tell by my bills I NEVER spend £60 to start with .... and don't they realise they're inviting me to force them to lose money?
Sains always give me a till spit suggesting I will get extra points next time if I were only to spend twice as much as I normally spend which of course I never do.I think....0 -

I do those big shops for points on things that store, like , loo roll, washing powder, bleach. I never buy two tins of tomato for example, but two dozen . Saves buying them too often, means I don't have to go back all the time. We ran out of pasta recently, so I'll buy a few kilos:o.0 -

I've no room for "stocks" until I've sorted out the house and then decided where to keep any stocks ... and got a big cardboard box specially for them. It's hard to stock up much when there's just one person.... especially when the stuff I do buy is always "the cheapest" and I can't add any pet food or booze to the list.
Not sure what £60's worth of shopping would look like if I tried to do it .... but, once done, it'd then take 1-2 years to get through the stocks
I guess it might be possible .... just the once. Unless I bought 250 cans of Pepsi in one go, when they're half price - thing is, would they deliver that or try to substitute it or limit me? If the shed were sorted out (which it will be at some point) they could safely go in there....0 -
Just turned over and missed the first hour of The Moors Murderers (which I didn't know was on) ... so I found there's an ITV3+1, where it is just starting (freeview channel 34).
Always grown up with the Moors Murderers stories dotted through the papers, but, at the time, although I was aware of them from the Sunday paper in the late 60s, I've never actually seen a dramatisation of events. Having said that it's part one of a two-part drama ... so no doubt I'll miss/forget to watch the next one.
Also realised I missed Long Lost Family 10-11pm tonight as I was watching Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares (forgot LLF was on).
But ... with broadband and speakers, I can give it a go watching on catchup later .... see if this PC's up to that0
