(Almost) welcome back to civilisation PN!0 -

I love conkers. Would love to go conkering. We used to go on the common when I was growing up. Just used to pick up a dozen or so from the ground, but I remember it.
I think I'll have a ready supply of conkers not far from my front door. Will hopefully come in handy as apparently my house is some kind of spider sanctuary (there are loads of the things).0 -
This weekend mauve squeaker didn't come to bed with us but rather snuggled down with a bass player, He was quite pleased as she tucked into the crook of his arm and settled in, then was a bit put off as she started purring like a motor bike. He thought he could learn to deal with that if he pretended it was traffic, but then she fell asleep. And then she started to snore.0

There is something very beautiful about big shiny conkers. This sort of coppery chestnut was my favourite nail polish colour until everywhere started using gel and I could not have that colour anymore (how shallow am I:o)
Our daughter loved collecting conkers..and making conker furniture. It is a fairly limited range tbh..Table, chair (wool back).
The other delight was for her to collect sheep's wool from barbed wire fences and make dollies pillows from it.0 -

Disagree. Do people expect to deal with WH Smith when they go to buy a magazine? When I buy an amstrad gizmo, do I expect sugar to sell it to me? When I have a burger, do I expect ronald mcdonald to bring my dinner?
The team won't feel like underlings. They're more likely to be proud to be in a good job working for a good employer!
Great Oaks out of little acorns grow!

I agree with that. As long as you have capable people that are able to do the job as well as you, you don't have to be the sole person. You have to be able to delegate as well. There's a few people that I generally deal with, but the reality is that if I wasn't here ever again, the business is constructed to pootle along as it is anyway.
Sorry just read that back and it sounds as if I am trying to make you irrelevant, but I'm not!:olostinrates wrote: »This weekend mauve squeaker didn't come to bed with us but rather snuggled down with a bass player, He was quite pleased as she tucked into the crook of his arm and settled in, then was a bit put off as she started purring like a motor bike. My idea of bliss - love hearing animals snore, it sounds contented. Human snoring however, is akin to nails on a blackboard.0 -

I used to hate DH snoring and , um, trained him not too.. Now I've started
and he won't return the favour because he thinks its 'sweet' That said on the very rare occasion DH snores now I do kinda like it but I think that's entering the world of sickeningly lovey dovey.

Good grief, you could set up a website dishing out advice to long-suffering partners everywhere, make you a fortune!:D
Yes, sickeningly lovey-dovey, carry on like that and he'll take it as permission to snore as before and then all that training will be for naught!0 -

Have you trained someone up to do drivercide? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I read this on my way to have my nails done. My lady is mobile and has more colurs than any salon I've ever seen. I'm not joking when I say she must have 200 colours.
Anyway, she uses Gelish and has a lovely conker colour with a slight shimmer.. I have dayglo pink fingers and toes today.
