It's hard to stock up much when there's just one person.... especially when the stuff I do buy is always "the cheapest" and I can't add any pet food or booze to the list.
Not sure what £60's worth of shopping would look like if I tried to do it .... but, once done, it'd then take 1-2 years to get through the stocks
I guess it might be possible .... just the once. Unless I bought 250 cans of Pepsi in one go, when they're half price - thing is, would they deliver that or try to substitute it or limit me? If the shed were sorted out (which it will be at some point) they could safely go in there....
I don't buy pet food there , and not buying booze ATM. £60 quid is approx 12 boxes of premium washing powder on special offer ( which is the kind of time I buy them, but not twelve, just giving an example of space). We buy non bio so are limited in our choice of powders. A good offer is a boon.0 -
Just ran in internet speed test.
Download speed 1.06Mb/sec
Upload speed 0.345Mb/sec
As with all these things.... I'll now have to go and see how this compares. It's certainly feeling slow.0 -

1.06 Megabits/sec is a bit slow. We are 3.95 Mbps here, which is slow. We have about the same upload speed as you, which is far from ideal for backups.
On the other line (yes, I know, no need to say) it's only 3.31 download, although someone else may be using the broadband, but the upload is a fair bit better at 0.84.
HTH as a comparison of sorts. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I put my Big Girl Pants on today and sent my the first chapter of my 2nd draft to my supervisor. I've made a (very slight) start on the next chapter too.

One chapter down. How many other chapters need second drafts???PasturesNew wrote: »Having said that, today I did nothing significant .... phone/broadband connected, but that wasn't "me", so doesn't count
I did clean the patio doors ... but that doesn't count as that's "day to day stuff".... and doesn't move forward my unpacking ... and those drawers still aren't built
Agree with Nikkster - both the broadband and the patio doors count. Well done.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Holiday is going well although the weather has been a bit bleugh today. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Well, it's a combination of me being small (so my clothes are small) and not having many big/heavy clothes .... and, generally, round the house, just wearing a T shirt/thong most days. I only "get dressed" to go out. So, overall, not much washing to be done
I also don't have any grubby or sweaty hobbies - no sports kit, for example.0 -
What size box is it though. We get the 85 wash megaaa boxes which do up to 2 months.
Broadband sounds very slowI think....0
