I got ratted a few times when I was younger, but nothing wild. My mum once cleaned up after I had thrown up without a word of reproachement. Her reasoning...I had looked after her when she had partied too hard. That is a Dublin view of parental education about responsible drinking.

Our daughter does not drink. We have offered her wine with meals and Champagne for toasts from when she was about aged 10. She did not like the taste and as she went through her teens had no inclination to be anything but in complete control of her senses. I think being dyspraxic contributes to this.

In hotels or restaurants she will order a Singapore Sling..because it has happy associations of Raffles - she had three trips to Singapore when K was there. I say order, because she rarely drinks it, it just makes her happy to have it and who can resist a drink with umbrellas in?

My preferred cocktails are Mojito and Margherita. I may make some this weekend now I am reminded of them. :):):)

I love mojitos. :). They are what I drink when I go out with dh's family. They buy my self control. :o

The weird thing for me was when LNE left. Some of the couples who had been our friends carried on being my friends, but all sorts of couples seem to feel that the wife should be friends with me and the husband keep out of it. :(

26 years ago my friend's husband left her for someone else. She had been my friend from school. I was a bridesmaid at their wedding. They were were 'our' best freinds.

We stayed friends with both of them. We missed them as a couple hugely.
In time she remarried..we went to her wedding..we liked her new husband.

Then one day she told me we could not be friends with her and with her ex. She wanted no connections to 'leak' details of her new life to her old.

A few yeasr later her ex no longer had contact with us either as his new wife 'cleansed ' his former freinds.

    I stiil miss them.:(

Apparently their buyers live close by and want the house so they have room to host family from overseas! A log cabin at the bottom of their garden would be so much cheaper.

Probably cheaper ATM to stash the cash and fork out for a B & B (or the Savoy) for visitors!
I wish it took me that long.... I can be 3lb 9oz heavier in just one day of pies and chocolate bars :(

Hey, no belittling 3lb 9oz. I'm proud of that, it's all caused by me! :j

Just a random thought, but my earliest childhood memory is banging away at my hammering pegs toy, then crying until someone turned it over for me so I could do it again. Rinse and repeat!

I wonder whether, at some point, someone went and screamed with frustration after turning it over for you time no. 947?
    Thick or lazy?

Not lazy! Hammering away, he was.

Snuggling a baby and listening to baby squeaks...sounds wonderful.

As well as the helpful Isaac, do you have Sam at present?

She's coming back on Monday. She's had some time off.

Kermie's currently wearing just a nappy, and sitting in his bouncy chair gazing at a helium balloon in awe and admiration. It's a bit too hot for too much snuggling now! For both of us, really.

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

The health visitor thinks he should have gained more, looking at her charts. I think her charts need ignoring, he's clearly not too thin! He's a little chunk monster:

Well done on this. I was useless at breast feeding:(

I had imagined I would be some kind of earth mother. intervention free birth, minimal pain relief, breast feed for at least six months.

Failed at everything. Hooked up to mechanical cow to drag milk out of me whilst in hopsital and continual manual breast pump when home as DD was not very sucky. At two weeks the midwife suggested I tried supplementing the breast milk with formula as DD was losing weight.

The little beast drank a 3.5 oz bottle  We continued with both until only six weeks as by then I had virtually no milk at all.

iphone/ ipad chargers. There is a known weakness just where the cable meets the connector. You can buy reliable unlabelled but apple products, it is also cheaper to buy the leads separately to the plugs.

    Apple-chargers.jpg

The one on the left will charge twice as fast as the one on the right. For an ipad, the one on the left is recommended, but phones can charge from either.

Groupon have a deal on leads at the moment.

Best idea is to label each lead and charger with the owners name, then no excuse for walking off with someone else's possession.

For traffic tickets try pepipoo forum. It worked for me twice. (I should add that neither of the tickets were mine; I also suffer with being dumped with stuff that is not mine.)
