How will that work when taking a team to places like the job in London?

The two will rent a place properly in London, the trades will join them at times. I expect cousin will stay full time in London anyway. Darkest Worcestershire doesn't hold too many delights for a twenty something.

There isn't a vehicle that seems to do what he wants that isn't silly expensive in some way - tax, fuel, just the cost of the vehicle versus being presentable. At points last year he was spending £200 a WEEK on diesel. And I've worked out the cost of depreciation by essentially breaking it and spending out for it to break again was £50 a week. Most of the time there is two of them.

I have no idea. All the other options he looks at seem to have drawbacks but I am not prepared to pay out for another vehicle the same as the last, under warranty and then the fuel on top.

Stressed about it. I can hand my car back in January and go for something cheaper/smaller myself but how is that fair?

Watching T in the Park after getting angry at the programme about planned obsolescence. Am more and more conbvinced computers peaked ten years ago and everything since is a waste of time and money(well I swear it's true from macs).

Speaking of unplanned obsolescence, What with the last Ramone dying yesterday, I'm worried Paolo Nutini doesn't look healthy. Saw him close up at the Jools Holland show and it's hard to believe he's only 10 years older than DS. The 27 club's full enough, we don't need him in it as well. :(.

I met Paolo Nutini in 2010. He looks dreadful in real life. It's hard to imagine that he's the same guy. I hope it's just that he looks rough in general and hasn't got problems, he's a great talent.

We've also got the test drive of an electric van for four days. It only has two seats so he can only use it when he's alone, really, as we have a family. He's just driven off alone in my Mini. Free fuel van is on the drive, still.

A friend found you could get a good deal on a Nissan Leaf if you bought through a business. Not sure if it meets your needs other than it is electric and has 4 seats.

    Its tough.

I know we cannot find something we like and while less motivated or pressed by time as you too, we also have fewer requirements.

As for fairness, I think in partnerships anyway, and more so when a business is involved, that's a harder line to draw. I know you both like cars, so its important you both feel comfortable and that things are presentable and secure etc.

I would LOVE electric for me for a run about, for longer trips, then we could feel better about a defender or so etching, but I simply don't feel the mileage from here, even with plug in options in London etc, is reliable enough for me. Diversions, other drains on power etc might all be a downfall. I'd still love a sporty tesla but not in my price range. DH would still love an aptera if it came to uk.

As it stands we're still struggling over the one car issue. ( though if cars that drive themselves really come in who knows....DH might want one for commutes)

I hate buying cars. Hate it.

We've found the range to be nowhere near the indicated; about 90 miles per charge.

I'd recommend the Toyota Prius if you'll be going over this on a regular basis.

So the technology is moving forward and in terms of charge, you apply for cards at that allows fast charge for free, all over the place. Next year, every BP garage will have one. Fast charge is 80% in 30 minutes. Most journeys aren't super long ones, but a London journey will need a rest stop for a charge. Not ideal but the feel good factor of not paying for fuel might make up for it a bit.

There is one in town here at the Nissan garage. We also live by the motorway and our nearest services in both directions both have fast charge so in theory can top up before getting home. But none of this will be me, really and he takes liberties with my car, even. My car has a 47 litre tank. When I got my car back today (Having borrowed a Citroen C1 from a friend's daughter this week) I had to put 47.27 litres in it.

The Leaf is interesting. No way could he have it, it would be wrecked. That would have to be mine. I could live with outside but The one I saw today look like inside was designed for people who wear driving gloves.

I think I saw the same thing as zag and thought, this kid isn't going to last  He looked in a bad way. Then he was quiet for a couple of years, maybe it was some sort of burn out.
I thought his last hit was his best hit so far and hope he's managing himself ok.

Just back in from a concert in town. Strange day. Went in early to have a look in the shops and as I got off in Green Park a flashmob of pirates ran past. Surreal.

Concert was good rather than great. Artist very talented but didn't like the entire repertoire, though two favourites were in there, which helps. It was Kristin Chenoweth at RAH.

It's a bit too hot to sleep right now. I haven't been too hot since about 2003!

Have Thelma and Louise shown up yet or are they still having too much fun to check in?
