Good afternoon :hello:
Hello happe :hello:
I went shopping and bought leggings, knickers, a long chunky cardi and a pair of boots. I'm still in love with my scruffy old cheap Matalan boots, they need new soles which will probably cost as much as the boots did in the first place but I'm tempted to get them done...
Look at Timpsons for their rhino soles - free heels and lifetime sole replacements when they need itI just paid £21 for a new lot on some shoes & had 2 lots of soles replaced for free

Thanks for that tip Floss. I've got a pair of leather boots (fur lined and laced) which are my stand by for anytime I'll be doing a lot of walking in the winter. They aren't the most fashionable pair I own but they're perfect for winter City breaks or days out in London when fashion footwear just isn't enough. They need the heels doing. I'll be heading off to Timpsons PDQ.
I'm another who needs a wardrobe revamp. As we're going on holiday in 10 days time (and hoping for sun) and the weather is glorious here at the moment I'll do it when I get back in October and summer clothes can be washed and banished for another year.:(
Good to see you've been shopping for yourself tru. When I was driving past I noticed that a branch of Home Bargains has opened right next to Matalan. They're very unusual in the south so I must make a trip there soon.0 -
Bitsy I'm sat laughing at the thought of putting apple sauce on my head - because it'd never happen, I'd end up eating it first
Does it work though? I've heard of it before and have always wondered.
It sort of has worked but it may need another application. It's hard to say given I am still in transition. Thank goodness for a Nutribullet. It makes the apple mix much smoother and therefore easier to wash out.
I was telling a friend about it last night and she said it sounded like a lot of hard work....why not just use shampoo. Aside from the nasty chemicals in shampoo and the ridiculous cycle of stripping the hair and dumping conditioner back on it to make it look nicer when I use shampoo I have to wash every day. I sleep on my hair and it looks terrible. I want to get away from washing my hair every day, it's a PITA. So this had better just be part of transition because if it's due to my hard water I will cry :eek:I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Hi all
Tru - you're right, brown is completely out of favour in the shops - and a brown cardigan (& a deep red/burgundy scarf) is all I need for my wardrobe to be complete!
I even went to boundary mill today - some of their stuff is last season so I thought I'd be fine - but nothing.
(I did break my own rules though and bought a long red dress by Hobbs - it was gorgeous, just the fit I was after and best of all was just £20!! It saves me trailing around the shops in December because I don't have anything to wear for the Christmas do...)
I'm away for a couple of nights so am about to have a pamper session and a lush bath - bliss
Hope you're all doing ok.0 -

SB, these might not offer the styles or the price range that you have in mind, but have you considered Woolovers, I have 2 or 3 of their items and really like them, here is the page for cardigans offered in brown (not sure how many shades of brown though) I am on hols atm, but should have their catalogue, I will have a look when I get home:)

Evening All
I am yet another who wants to do a wardrobe revamp. I'm planning to do it in a couple of weeks when hopefully I shall have lost a few more pounds. I am going to sort out my winter wardrobe but am making the most of the warm weather we are having at the moment to get a few last wears out of my summer outfits.
I've had quite a busy day. I went to Pilates this morning and followed it with coffee with my friends. I had work this afternoon and cooked a nice healthy meal when I got home - sole in a lemon and pepper coating with new potatoes, roast peppers and steamed green beans fresh from the garden. The cutting back of calories is definitely working as I've already dropped a couple of pounds. I agree that treats need to be incorporated and had half a small bar of chocolate snuggled up on the sofa with DH whilst we watched a couple of episodes of NCIS that we have recorded.
I've no work tomorrow as I have to pick DGD up from school so need to decide what I'm doing instead. I have an early morning run planned but then nothing till 3.15 so will try to do something that burns a few extra calories and takes my mind off snacking!

Betty, it's amazing what is classed as brown at the moment, the closest I could find was camel
Pru, I also have a special pair of boots which I cherish. I am so afraid of them wearing out I only wear them occasionally :rotfl: They are the most comfortable footwear I have ever owned, never found anything close.
My OH is the same and I shall let him go on thinking that
Bitsy, does your hair ever feel greasy?
VJsmum, thanks for reminding about the frozen banana ice cream
Upwards and onwards ladies.

Delighted to hear about all the wardrobe planning and purchasing
I got a top and gorgeous jumper last night and today I became the very happy owner of these stunning shoes, I felt amazing in them and didn't want to take them off :rotfl: Not the most practical of purchases but they are sooooooo gorgeous

I decluttered a few things from the wardrobe yesterday, boring things that should be versatile basics but just aren't. I've decided I don't really like plain clothes so I'm not keeping any.
I've been using the face oil I bought at the weekend and I really like it, it's nice and light and gives my face a nice sheen. I'm volunteering at the charity shop today so I'll be able to drop some things off, then I don't have to think about them again.
Have a good day.0 -
Ladies just a wee reminder about your makeup
Remember it is important to wash your makeup brushes on a regular basis to keep them clean and healthy to use.
Also worth renewing any very old makeup especially mascara and eyeshadow. I replace my mascara every 3-6 months and eyeshadow every yearIn fact for most of my makeup I replace in in the January sales so I know it is refreshed once a year at least.
A fabbing day of sorts today as I am going to the hygienist to get my teeth polished. I am quite a nervous patient so I have left off the mascara today just incase :rotfl:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
