rose, I wear my scarves a bit like this:
They need to be quite long, soft and hang well. My everyday look is a bit 'preppy' so I wear the scarves either with jeans and a top and a short cardigan or for a smarter look with a skirt and opaques.
I took a look at some 'not dressed as lamb' images and found this
which is roughly how I dress day to day if I'm not at meetings or going somewhere a bit more dressy.

That's how I wear my scarfs too and have quite a collection of then now. I love a scarf to change to look or brighten up an outfit...
Anyway need to get ready for work.. In bed at 12 after wedding woke up at 4 and got glued to in the referendum results now shattered for work. I have to say we are now in front of the world- handed our independence on a plate and said NO! I am so disappointed. But onwards as they say...
Have a good day folks.... I will not be glamorous today ... Eye bag lady0 -
I have loads of lovely scarfs and shawls however I have never managed to make them look quite right when I wear them
There are a few good you-tube videos that show you different ways to put them on.
The house is getting there (finally) and I just need to make sure that I don't lose momentumA good friend is coming over for coffee and a catch up today so I am looking forward to putting the world to rights with lots of laughter.
Friday so I will be making that little bit extra effort to look fabulousTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Good morning everyone. I stayed up listening to the radio all night so wasn't feeling very fab this morning. But after catching up o the posts here I got myself off the sofa and into the shower for some extra pampering.
I'm now squeaky clean, exfoliated, defuzzed, smooth and fragrant. I used my new products so feel hydrated and gorgeous. I'm only lounging round the house today but I've put on my favourite shorts and t-shirt and am feeling loads better. Thank you!
As I've been buying so much from the charity shop recently I'm going to go through my wardrobe again to see if there are any gaps in my winter wardrobe and to be extra ruthless with anything that needs to go.
Have a wonderful Friday everybody.0 -
I don't know if I should be happy or sad, I have decided I have to give up on my favourite jeans. I can take them off without undoing them :rotfl: and wore them today with belt as tight as a tight thing and still spent half the day conscious of unsightly saggy crotch issues and trying to pull them up.
Bye bye jeans.Mortgage

Thanks for listening folks, and for the ideas. I realise I'm no busier than anyone else, and a lot luckier than some - I'm just in a rut and a bit down, I need a kick up the backside, back into gear, sort myself out. Stupid hormones
Moan over.
Well done Kiwisaver on the weight loss that 's led to the demise of your jeans :T and now you get to choose a fab new pair!
I've bought some denim and a pattern. I'm going to try to make a smart jacket. I have a regular 'jean' jacket but have passed that on to DD as I think it's too young for me now. Thought 'smart' shape, but still denim, might be a good halfway house.
I'm getting my hair dyed tomorrow (popped in last night and they had an appointment free, that was lucky) so I'll talk to the stylist about what I can do to tame the mop a bit. This humid weather doesn't help, it goes mad. I might get her to take it really short, at least it stays more tidy that way!
Also need to visit some charity shops clearly - you all seem to get some lovely things!

Just a quick pop-by to say happy Fab Friday ladies - have been down to the allotment and have now washed all the dust, raspberry & blackberry stains off my hands so I can see my lovely dark cherry shellac
Newly blonded hair is in a pony tail on top of my head (a la Essex facelift but not so tight :rotfl:) and I am wearing my best fitting jeans & a crisp new white t-shirt from Gap, with some lovely Kurt Geiger red ballet slippers & a long red, white & blue silk scarf as a belt.
I had 2 bags of discarded stuff to donate so had a quick mooch in the local hospice shop earlier - well it's rude not to look when one is already in the shop! Picked up a lovely Monsoon black lace pencil skirt, a Monsoon 50% wool jumper dress (in an aztec pattern), a Zara navy & grey striped jumper dress, a long sleeved silk blouse (for work under my shift dresses), and a cute black & royal blue shift dress for work - all for £24
Am now off to do battle with sugarpaste peonies, whilst singing along to my iPod with the sun pouring through my kitchen windows...it really doesn't feel like September in the middle of the day, does it?!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Afternoon All.
Well done on your weight loss Kiwisaver. I've lost 3lbs so far and aiming to get just under 9 stone eventually (I'm only 5 foot tall). Hopefully I shall drop under the 10 stone barrier in the coming week. I fit into a lot of size tens and even some eights but have excess flab round my middle which I am determined to lose.
I've been to Yoga this morning which really helps with keeping everything toned and flexible but I am uncomfortably aware of my midriff bulge when doing twists.
For Fab Friday I'm wearing my new (to me) Country Casual jeans with a navy and white striped top and black ankle boots. The top has a line of vivid pink round the neck too so I've got pink earrings to tone with it. I always wear a necklace - just a simple silver band today which matches with my watch and wedding ring. I've put my hair in a French plait as it is just long enough to do without all falling out. Although the new hairdresser did a good job on the cut and colour it doesn't seem to be as easy to keep it looking good when it is down so I've been wearing it tied back quite a bit. I think I need to look for a few different slides to keep the sides tidy that will co- ordinate with different outfits. I think a good hairstyle is definitely important rosyq in making your look special.
I've no work today so need to decide what to do this afternoon. I've cleaned out the hens and done a few bits round the house so might get some sewing out. I've just finished a hand sewn patchwork quilt which needs the wadding and lining putting on. Also we might go and see an early show at the Cinema as the new Liam Neeson film is on at 5.15pm. That will still give us an evening ahead of us too which should make the day seem longer. I called in the local charity shop this morning and tried on 7 different tops that caught my eye but none looked good enough to buy. Still I was able to try some different colours and styles. I quite like the floaty top with leggings and knee high boots look for winter as well as fitted tops and jeans. I also like shortish dresses with thick black tights and either boots or flat shoes so shall start looking round for some of those.
Enjoy your day everyone

Loving the talk about scarves. I have loads but looking to do a serious cull as many of them aren't in "my" colours...
Had another wardrobe cull last night - found clothes that still have the labels on:o so they've gone in the eBay pile. Also was completely honest about what actually fits - I have three bags in the bottom of the wardrobe which will fit if I *just* lose half a stone...
I had a slobbing day today, although haven't actually left the house, so decided it doesn't count.
I'm going on a 5-day trial gym membership starting tomorrow - thought it would give me a kickstart and then hopefully I'll keep it up (although at the local leisure centre and not at the expensive gym)...
Have a good weekend all0 -

maman Erm, you dress like that on your normal days? I really need to up my game
I went to the dentist's yesterday to discuss two bridges and to have x-rays (I started gagging and thought I was going to throw up!). The bridges will cost £219 each, I'm not bothered about one of the gaps because it's further back, plus the tooth has been missing for so long that I'm used to it now. So I said just to do the front one. The dentist said he thought I'd be happier with the back one too as I've had a false tooth there for a few months. I explained that no I haven't – I hate the plate and don't wear it most of the timeOne of the teeth will be awkward to fit a bridge to anyway, so it may not work. He is happy to leave it, but asked if I minded being experimented on, he's had an idea which may or may not work. So the second bridge will be free
I said as long as he doesn't have to do any work to my other teeth he can experiment away
I hate having things done when they're actually needed so I'm shocked that I agreed to this, lol.

Not sure how much fabbing will be done today – I have a lovely big dose of PMS and I just want to sleep
