Frump to Fab - Onwards and Upwards

Hi everyone,
The last few weeks have been an absolute nightmare at work so haven't had much time to keep up to date here, or to fab! Oh well! I must say though, the skincare routine I have been following for the past few months (religiously!) has really made my skin glow. My skin's always been ok, pretty clear although the odd spot like we all get, but at the moment it's actually glowing! I hope this isn't just the calm before the storm!
Speaking of skincare, Rummer, I think the best thing for your daughter, as you say, is keeping it simple. I really love cleansing oils and balms (I use hemp seed oil to cleanse my face, and have also used jojoba) so maybe she could try an oil if she is willing, or if not I know the superdrug hot cloth cleansing balm is highly recommended. I also know that the best thing you can do for your skin is to wear an SPF all year round, but it can be a pain to get someone to put an extra product on their face, so maybe look at moisturisers with an SPF? The key thing is to use gentle products. Your DD's face should never feel tight after cleansing. No more goo hoarding!

Strange you should say that. I can remember the exact day that my skin started to feel tight when I was a teenager. I stopped using soap on my face then and have never used it since. I use a facewash and then moisturiser every day and since I've got older eye cream as well.
Strangely, I like straight leg jeans. I've tried skinnies but I'm not comfortable if they're really tight. I'm on the lookout for another stockist. Supermarket jeans are OK until you've washed them a few times. I tried Next and maybe I was unlucky but I had to take them back because seams started unravelling. I wear jeans lots, particularly at this time of the year and in the spring so it's worth paying a bit as I know I'll get my moneysworth in cost per wear.
I'm another who loves people watching. I KNOW I'm shallow but I get as much from looking at people who look so frumpy it makes me feel great to smart people I'd like to imitate. I do the same with magazines. If I see some fashion item I always weigh up whether it would suit me or I've got something similar in the wardrobe that could be adapted.
Three good CS buys this week. Cancer Research were selling off their summery stuff. I bought a Paul Costelloe linen dress, a white Joseph long sleeved top and a Fat Face emerald green top. All £1 each!!
Hope the healthy eating has returned rummer. Is it sugar in your tea/coffee or cakes and sweets that's your downfall?
My dancing class starts back tonight after summer break. Hope I'm not too worn out.0 -
Currently sat with apple sauce (home made of course minus any sugar) on my head to try and remove the current waxy feeling that is either caused by transition or by the hard water here. This no poo/low poo had better be worth it :rotfl:
Skin is playing up and I am wondering if it's hormones  so feeling a wee bit like wearing a bag on my head when I go out at the moment.
Just the basics going on, did some yoga last night and yoga class tomorrow night :j
Ladies regarding the healthy eating.....just my opinion mind but I always feel it's better to factor in some treats otherwise you're more than likely to fall off the wagon in spectacular style. Just remember tomorrow is another day, draw a line under it and move on
Maman such great CSS bargains! I never see adult clothing sold for that cheap, end of season or not!I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Your advice came too late for me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Well today may have been another day but it went from bad to worse eating wiseHowever I enjoyed each mouthful and am actually ready this time to get back in the swing of things.
I went clothes shopping and was again shocked that clothes did not make me look two sizes smaller :rotfl: What can I expect when I am not exercising and eating well consistently??? At least I got a couple of tops that were nice and a new incentive to slim! I only want to drop a dress size so it shouldn't be that big a challenge but I consistently fail and have been gaining and losing the same half stone forever.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

Depends what you call a treat, maybe? I have developed a love of mango or avocado or a handful of nuts.
The frozen banana "ice cream" thing is a great treat (whizz up frozen banana with a stick blender until it has the consistency of ice cream and add a spoonful of peanut butter - bliddy delish)
I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
 I forgot I put a banana in the freezer weeks ago to try this and forgot about it until you posted there :eek:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Bitsy I'm sat laughing at the thought of putting apple sauce on my head - because it'd never happen, I'd end up eating it first
Does it work though? I've heard of it before and have always wondered.Bulletproof0 -

Completely agree bitsy. I know I keep banging on about SW but that's exactly what the 'syns' are for. The eating plan is meant to have treats (chocolate, alcohol, cakes, crisps, cheese or whatever takes your fancy) to stop you giving up but also to make sure you know these things are for treat status and need keeping in their place.
BTW, I'm sticking to conditioner I don't think I'll be trying apple sauce on my hair any time soon!:rotfl:0 -
Good afternoon :hello:
Hello happe :hello:
I went shopping and bought leggings, knickers, a long chunky cardi and a pair of boots. I'm still in love with my scruffy old cheap Matalan boots, they need new soles which will probably cost as much as the boots did in the first place but I'm tempted to get them done. I wanted two cardis but most are crew neck stylee and I like collars. I didn't find any jumpers I liked, they're all either very short or very long. sweaty betty I couldn't find anything brown, I was really surprised. Plenty of brown boots, but no clothesI couldn't find the jeans I wanted so I'll dye the ones I've got and hope they last a bit longer

I'm going to go through my wardrobe again, put nice things on grey hangers and around-the-house/garden things on blue hangers. I've made shelf space for housey t-shirts, jumpers etc. Perfume, mascara and leave-in hair conditioning spray are permanently left out by the mirror because I'm intending to use them every day and I sometimes forget. All other make-up is in a nearby drawer.
Mr tru seems to think he's in charge of me so I'm on a mission to get that sorted ASAP :rotfl:Bulletproof0 -
Hi all,
I always try and read but don't always get chance to post.
I agree maman, Bitsy that's why SW works so well for me. I just couldn't manage WW. I was always hungry and when I did fall off the wagon it was with spectacular style:eek:
So far I've lost 2st 2 lb slowly and steady, factoring in my syns and making sure I don't ignore my very sweet tooth. I know from past experience if I do, it leads to a massive binge.
So feeling fab at the moment, so much more positive about myself and how I look. It affects every other area of my life when I feel frumpy. I know hubby loves it when I'm feeling positive. He says its nothing to do with what I weigh, he loves me fat or thin, it's much more about my positive attitude.
Keeping up with my Sunday pamper sessions every week. Just a couple of hours to myself really set me up for the week.
Tru I also need another wardrobe organisation. I've got stuff that's too big and I never want to go back too, plus I feel I need to be a bit more organised so that when I open my wardrobe I have choices. I'm aiming fora capsule wardrobe plus trying to get together summer stuff for my hols in November.
Anyway off to make chilli for tea, have a good day all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
