I feel so much better too :D Now I am totally on board with my change of eating and I am exploring tasty new recipes and delicious foods :D

As for the gym induction, I got my dates wrong :o so I am going to call today to rearrange it as I am keen to get going. I feel a bit self conscious about going to the gym however I am sure many of the people there will be quietly feeling the same :rotfl:

Yesterday was a tough day due to family illness however even though it was late and I was beyond tired I still managed the face and body moisture routine so I think that habit is established

My maternity leave will be finishing in a few weeks and I am now turning my thoughts to managing my life with that filling my days. I need to start organising how I will keep on top of the endless laundry and cook and shop as well as quick and easy meals to make sure I don't fall into the takeaway trap! Online shopping with a preset list may be my way ahead ;) Oh and of course there are wardrobe decisions to be made!
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!
• I've bought quite a lot of new clothes recently, mainly from the charity shop but not just from there. In the past week I have bought a top from Oasis - black and white, long sleeved, from the charity shop there has been a summer dress (accessorize), a red winter dress (old, so I don't know where it's from), some accessories, a bag, a long sleeved floaty top, a pink shiny jacket (homemade and pretty old looking) aaaaand something else I can't remember.

I didn't think I'd lost any weight all the tops are size 8 or xs, so not complaining about that at all. Still wearing a 10 on the bottom although I can now get into a couple of smaller skirts too *yay*.

Hope everyone is well, sorry to hear about all the health issues knocking around at the minute, we're going through a few things too. Have a good day.

Just picked up on the 3lb weightloss rummer!:T What a boost, well done. Does that mean you'll soon be returning to work? You need to get yourself into serious meal planning including things for lunches. Is your OH eating vegan too?

Get you with the small sizes alec. That's fantastic. I've noticed lots of short skirts appearing in the autumn ranges. It's a look I like with boots and opaques provided I don't look too 'mutton' IYSWIM. Something to look into. At the moment I'm still into summer and I have a holiday at the end of the month so perhaps when I get back I'll take a serious look.

Got my nails and eyebrows done yesterday. Eyebrows are just OK (usual lady on holiday) but not a disaster. I won't go back but a shame as it was such a luxurious salon, beautifully decorated, but that's not what I went for! I'm keeping my weight on track but it's a fine line as lots of eating out happening at the moment.

Sorry to hear there's still a fair bit of family illness and personal aches and pains going around:). Still a bit of fabbing, whether it's personal or houses, does give us a lift. So keep it up.

P.S. I did stare at the moon last night LL and thought of you both.

Good evening ladies,
Just popping in to say goodnight, I need an early night after last nights moon watch.

Rummer, don't worry about the induction, everybody is there for the same reason, but all at different stages. The only time I felt awkward at a gym (many years ago) it was a the uni gym and really was testosterone filled, all very muscly (sp) men  Needless to say I travelled a little further to the 'normal' gym :rotfl::rotfl:

They were showing smear test (live) on TV! Now that takes guts  :o

Goodnight all.
Carmen xx

PS. I had a good day today, onwards and upwards.
• LL sorry to hear your mum isn't doing so well :(

Prudent sorry the news about your DD was worse than expected xx

Rummer well done on the 3lbs

Carmen welcome back :)

Pirateyqueen hope you're feeling better x

Went back to yoga last night :j:j hubby has a temp job (which hopefully has potential) so i went back to class. Enjoyed it sooooo much and despite very little yoga over the summer I wasn't in too bad shape.
Not much extra personal fabbing, mostly house fabbing. Have switched to low poo shampoo. My faithful bicarb failed to clean my hair as well so I decided life was too short for the pain of transition so low poo it is.

Have a good evening all :)

• Firstly I haven't been on for a wee while so been trying to catch up on some news..

LL- I am pleased OH final send of was as exact as you planned it and sounds like the music went down a treat. Your son was so brave! Sad news about your mum, however hopefully that day was a bad day rather than a quick decline , although sad none the less. Big hugs x

Prudent I am so sorry about your daughters bad news as LL has saidife is so cruel sometimes. Hugs.

To others I hope you are all doing well and hopefully everyone who needs a hug with benefit even though a virtual one.

I am just back from holiday - I was awY with OH for a week and it was lovely. The day after we returned he was very unwell and then ended up in hospital- got out this Monday. It had been very stressful as he is never unwell. Home now thankfully but the holiday seems like a distantmory as do much has happened.

I have the anxiety knot in my tummy and really anxious and panicky . I really hate feeling like this. Apart from stress I do feel bloated, low mood, not sleeping great, bad Ibs ( sorry) and really not feeling myself. Thinking about a health MOT on vega check machine and also food sensitivity and bit & mineral testing too. Instead of randomly ting various vitiamins. I am looming at a few different practitioners at the moment.

Anyway sorry for whining, a stressful time and trying yer hard to look ok for OH. Staying in hospital till 2 am each night and getting up at 6 am for work is never going to not end up feeling frazzled!

Cleaned out some clothes and also my summer clothes box from holiday to the charity shop and in a few weeks it will be time to swap summer clothes in wardrobe to autumn /winter ones.

Confused by the referendum although I know my vote/ and wishing this fever pitch was over with. I like in a city to very stressful and full on!! And work is having mourners of strike action- possible indefinite !!! Humbug!!

Anyway mope mope... Sorry about that folks

Hugs to all that need them x
• Hi there - hope you're all doing ok, sometimes when it rains it pours, doesn't it?

I'm having real problems buying brown clothes - brown clearly isn't in this season as I can't find a long brown cardigan (that I like) anywhere :(

I have broken my clothes shopping amnesty though - I've bought a pair of black jeans and a brown dress for a smart-casual work conference (including dinner). There will be other items going to the charity shop to make room though - I'm going to keep to 333 as much as possible!

Morning :hello:

Carmen I'm a returnee too – for about the fourth time :D

LL, Pru and lizzie Thinking of you xx Pru Do you find your sciatica gets worse when you're stressed/worried?

Thanks for the nail advice maman and LL, I'll use olive oil tonight.

I've had a dentist appointment and have visited the osteopath this week, I'm exhausted :rotfl:

My teeth didn't need a deep clean, the hygenist just had to remove a bit of scale from between two teeth that I couldn't get to properly. I have quite a variety of tepe brushes (all lovely bright colours :D) but she gave me a size I don't have for that particular tooth. She gave my teeth a quick blast and sent me on my way, saying she's going to tell the dentist she's happy for me to have a bridge because she knows I'll look after it and my gums properly :D So I'm going back next week for a chat with the dentist.

The osteopath is happy with my progress so I don't have to go back for a month. I had a panic last week, I was doing my exercises and heard a clunk – I froze and was convinced my hip had dislocated or something :D:DObviously the reason it didn't hurt was because I'd killed the nerve at exactly the same time :rotfl: :rotfl: When I moved it (about 10 seconds later), it was loose and moved a lot easier. On sunday it seized up all day, I was going to ring and ask to go in straight away on monday, but when I got out of bed it was back to normal. The big knotty muscle is still a bit knotted, but everything around it has loosened enough to let it work back into it's proper place. So it shouldn't be long now and I will be straight again :D Also my one muscle isn't pressing on my sciatic nerve anymore so I have no pain from that. Just the occasional limp from the knotty muscle. I am almost fixed :D

Quick tip - don't rush when you're doing your hair, you will confuse body oil spray with leave-in conditioner and have to go out looking like you've dipped your head in a deep fat fryer. It was so bad that I felt I had to explain myself to the osteopath when I arrived. She was very polite about it and said I should think of it as an hour long deep conditioning treatment :D

Hi,

Can I rejoin you lovely lot too? I posted a while back but although I've kept reading I lapsed in the posting.(So sorry to read about your husband LL). I've read all the threads since the very first one and have stuck to some of the 'rules' throughout - especially the wearing perfume every day. However, my weight has slowly started creeping up again and I am starting to feel less good about myself. Here are my reasons for wanting to 'refab' and lose weight. Hope you don't mind me listing them here to refer back to - making them public might make me more likely to stick to them.
Vanity - I want to feel good looking in the mirror. Also I think slimmer people tend to look younger and I'm 56 now so getting closer to 60 all the time!
Health - A lot of my weight is round the abdomen which is the worst sort for health so I want to get rid of it.
Comfort - I don't like the feeling of bulging over waistbands or tights slipping down.
Frugality - I have lots of lovely clothes that are too tight. Also I buy lots of my clothes from charity shops and there are some lovely size 8s around - which at only 5ft tall is the size I am at correct weight.
Frugality again - I have been slipping into buying chocolate several times a week- the money I save can be spent on better things.
Role model - I want to be a good example for the rest of the family - including my 4 year old grand- daughter.

So today I'm wearing an outfit that I got complimented on by my sister a couple of weeks ago when I saw her, have packed up a flask of soup for lunch at work to take with an apple and have an appointment at the hairdressers tomorrow. I always cycle or walk to work and will try to move around a lot and not sit down whilst I am there as a starter for today.

Good morning lovely ladies

Another gorgeous day so the plan is to rattle through some serious house cleaning and then have a nice little potter in the garden. They are collecting my car today so I will be housebound so today I want to make a start on organising my bedroom. Get my new car tomorrow.

Had a lovely day yesterday. Had lunch with a friend and then went on a shopping spree....a bit naughy but did pick up some bargains. We went to a factory shop where I stocked up on knitwear. Sweaters were £5 so I bought 6. Four for me and one each for the boys for Christmas?

Also bought some everyday navy shoes, for walking. Not quite trainers, similar but a bit more dressy. They are made by Ecco, who are apparently very expensive. I would never have paid d the full price of £80 but at £25 I'm prepared to give them a whirl.

I also bought a very naughty (not that kind of naughty:rotfl:) dress. It's very "hippy" and floaty, or as my BIL would say very Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac for you young ones). My BIL has a bit of a thing for Stevie and he says that I sometimes remind him of her. This dress is definitely Stevie style.

Tru - glad to see the hip is making good progress. I have a couple of those knotty muscles and they are a real nuisance at times. exercise and massage really is the only way.

BITSY - good news re your husbands job. Fingers crossed it's the start of better things for you.

Rose - welcome to the thread. Sounds like some very good reasons for wanting to make changes. It's never to late to make a fresh start

Well the healthy eating is going well, not quite full Paleo but enough to make a difference - at least I hope so. Anyway it's a start and hopefully I can build on that and make improvements. I still have the odd bit of wheat, for example Cous Cous last night but provided I don't overdo the wheat I should be ok.

I feel better already. It does take a bit of organising, especially when out and about because sandwiches, cakes and biscuits are such easy snacks.

I wish coffee shops, etc would offer wheat free alternatives other than jacket potatoes. The cafe we went to yesterday does all day breakfast so I just skipped the toast. I bought a bag of trail mix and divided into small portions putting them in small plastic containers and I carry one with me for emergencies...

It's a work in progress.

Speaking of work time to get cracking.......

Have a lovely day, and if you get chance, grab a few rays - it will be winter before we know it......
