You're on the right track LL but don't beat yourself up if you don't get there overnight. You've recognised where you want to be with healthy eating. It'll definitely help you get your strength back physically while you try to build emotionally at the same time.

    Keep posting, you're a star.:A

    Good morning

Lovely sunny day and I'm off out in a bit to start some of my errands.

I have two bags of clothes for recycling (not fit for charity shop, OH's mini fridge from his room and his footstool). So a good start.

I have also gathered together all the disability equipment which needs to go back so will give SS a call later.

Last night I tackled the first batch of most urgent paperwork so all ready for posting, also aiming to pop into the bank to close his accounts, although I will probably have to make an appt for that.

I also need to pick up some mail from a couple of my previous addresses and then do some food shopping….so looks like I will be kept occupied for a few hours.

    So…... progress is being made.

Stray cat is called Halle, and is currently sat by my side as I type. She even sat by the bath whilst I had a nice long soak this morning. I think she likes me;) - either that or she has abandonment issues - which would hardly be surprising given the fact that she was indeed abandoned by her last owners.

Maman - apparently it's bad feng shuey to have cupboards over the bed.;)

Can't quite remember what the negative effects are supposed to be. At any rate it would probably open up the room if you did remove them and make everywhere look lighter and brighter but as you say you need to rehouse what you are currently storng in there.

Anyway time for something to eat and then get cracking. Not sure if I will have any energy left after my running my errands but my bedroom is an absolute tip, piles of clothes everywhere. I really must tackle it, but perhaps today is asking too much.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

    Carry on Fabbing.:D

(I had a lovely soak in the bath, a mini manicure and a good slathering of some nice posh Ted Baker body souffl! I won in a raffle).

I've heard that feng shui is just a posh word for tidying up so I'll be right on either count!!:rotfl:

Good luck with the errands, quite cathartic to get things sorted. :)

Yes I heard that one too.:rotfl:

Either way I think those overhead storage units are a bit dated now - not that that matters, although they can make the room look a bit cramped. They can be useful for stuff that you only need to access once in a blue moon.

I guess it all depends on what "look" you want. If you want to minimise their effect you could paint them the same colour as your walls so that they blend in rather than stand out. That might work.

Speaking of moons - look out for the last super moon of the year tomorrow.

The weather looks fine and settled (high pressure, clear skies) so we should get good view. I will sit outside and raise a glass to OH.
  • Hello everyone,

Fabbing has gone out of the window a little bit the last few days as I seem to be getting a cold and the eczema on my eyelids has come back again. I wanted to start my facial peels again at the weekend but seems a bad idea with the eczema back so that will have to be put on hold. I have ordered some more nail envy and seche vite so when they arrive I will give myself a manicure to make me feel better.
    No more goo hoarding!

    Marvellous :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

LL It sounds as if you are getting places steadily ;)

Piratey Sorry you are out of sorts, hopefully your manicure will help you feel a bit better :D

I took three carrier bags of stuff to the charity shop this morning and added to the car full of things we took to the dump yesterday the house is slowly starting to get there although there is still a huge amount to clear and do.

The healthy eating is going well although yesterday I did have a wee heap of biccies ;) I am considering getting an organic fruit and veg box delivered. It is the old debate though of cost vs quality. I could get the veg (not organic) for less through the supermarket but the majority of the boxes contents would be organic and locally sourced to better for me and the environment. I was reading a book the other day and it really highlighted the importance of eating well and has given me a lot to think about.

Skin care and moisturising going really well too :j

Love it :rotfl: if that's the case I'm a feng shuey expert and should change my job and organise other people's houses for them.
However, given that my own mum won't let me help her because I'm too drastic :o maybe not!

Sorry you're feeling bad, I've developed a cold over the weekend and been sent home because I kept making silly mistakes at work. Hope my brain goes back to normal service soon.
Hope the manicure perks you up, and you're on the mend soon.

Such a lovely day to day, is everyone enjoying the sunshine?

    Good afternoon ladies,
I would like to rejoin this wonderful thread.
Although I have not posted here for a very long time, I have lurked from time to time just to make sure everybody is behaving :A you know who you are! :rotfl:

OK, I need to get a grip as I am in a downward spiral with my body and my mind :( With your help ladies I know I can get back on track, even a kick up my derriere will be fine with me.
I have been growing the layers out of my hair after which I shall decide on what style to go for. My hair is silver/white (au naturel) and decided that long hair would not suit this colour (wrong) Cut to shoulder first, but over time I did not notice just how short it was getting after each trip the hairdresser:eek: I am fed up with looking like a boy :rotfl: hence the change.

It is another beautiful day again but I can feel autumn approaching which is my second favourite season after spring.
As a vegetarian it will be nice to change from salads to lovely seasonal root vegetables..yum! I tend to 'cook' a lot more during the cooler/cold months.

Enough prattling about me I am going to catch up on some of your posts.

    Have a good afternoon ladies.

    Carmen x

PS. I hope this works, second attempt!

Hi Twinnie -welcome back.....consider your derrière well and truly kicked.

I think long silvery white hair can look sensational. Mine is white too but currently a pixie crop but I would love to grow it. Perhaps I will now that I have more time. It's just that awful in between phase that I find so difficult. I tend to get fed up and then give up and get it all chopped off.

Well the errAnds went well but I'm now done for. Having a rest and then time to put the shopping away and cook dinner. Stocked up on lots of fruit and veg and some nuts and seeds for snacking. Hopefully this will stop me reaching for the cakes and biscuits.....

Well I've broken the back of the urgent paperwork and form filling, closed my husbands bank accounts. It all seems very final now and I feel the mantle of widowhood settling on my shoulders. I shall just have to make sure I'm a Merry Widow rather than a sad lonely one.;)

I had to call into the nursing home to pick up some mail and noticed his room has already been occupied. It does tend to rather ram home the Life Has to Go On Message......:Hey ho.

It's been a glorious day - apparently the fine weather is here for a few days.

I'm going to enjoy it whilst I can.
