I had planned to,do something salady tonight. I think a nice warming casserole might be better. :rotfl:

I have ditched the salad already, didn't buy any last time I went shopping, just don't fancy it any more :rotfl:

Bring on the thermals, winter boots and coats :D

It IS cold isn't it? I've been camping over the weekend and survived just fine, got home yesterday and wanted to put the heating on!

I'm wondering if I can move onto my project 333 autumn wardrobe a month early as these summer clothes aren't cutting it!

I think we're going to go for organic beef burgers tonight, with veg etc. It feels like that's somewhere between salad and casserole (which is definitely going in the slow cooker for tomorrow...)

Is autumn here already:rotfl:glad I dug out some warm clothing yesterday

Remember there is no such thing as bad weather - just the wrong clothes. Yeah right.:D

Got a bit of running about to do today so will need to get cracking. Sooner I get going sooner i can get back and curl up on the sofa.

Hugely depressing that the weather turned when it's still August. I enjoyed the early heat but wanted a full summer not just a few miserly weeks!! Actually it's gone back up to 18 here so perhaps warm and wet is better than nothing.

Firmly back in jeans (after dalliance into short skirts and vests) and tops/cardigans/scarves which is my usual 'catch all' attire. I've even worn socks a few times.:( Liver and onions on the menu tonight.

Had a bit of a natter with a friend last night. Turned to fashion and what to wear on various occasions. She always takes a lot of care matching handbags and putting outfits together, puts me to shame. Anyway, she was wearing a pair of shoes like these, but in cream with a (truly horrid IMO) pair of fawn, crimplene type trousers.

Then she started saying that her trousers were too short and flared to wear heels with them. Then the penny dropped that she was comparing herself to me! I felt good in my straight jeans, navy/white top, stripy scarf and leopard print heels and now I felt even better!!! Then conversation turned to a wedding she'd been to and a family birthday party I've got in a couple of weeks. I said I had a maxi dress planned but now turning a bit cold and may need to rethink. She said she'd hoped to wear a maxi to wedding but it ended up in CS. Asked why and she said it didn't fit in the 'tummy area'.

All in all I thought she needs to meet LL and my other fab virtual friends!! :D

I'm so glad you had that lovely dream LL. Remember we're here for you: good times and bad.:A

You are braver than us! We tried to go camping this weekend and ended up coming home early as we were so cold! New sleeping bags on on their way to us so that when we go away in another few weeks we will be snuggly warm :D

There has been no fabbing here as I am still trying to juggle everything while caring for ill family members and a teething baby. To be honest I am ready for a break :o so tonight I am going to take to the bath with a good magazine and a face mask.

I am still in summery clothes and have just added in some cardigans over my t-shirts and replaced sandals with shoes. However I am definitely an autumn/winter dresser and I love tights, dresses, cardigans and winter boots with a HM shawl on the top.

For warm sleeping when camping I can really recommend self-inflating mattresses (ours are from alpkit) - so much more comfy/warmer than airbeds etc IMO. Those and warm sleeping bags, fleece blankets and a duvet ;)

I think we wil invest in some SIMs however we will need to save up for them as they are quite expensive and as I am plump and like to sleep on my side I will need a thicker one :rotfl:

When we used to go camping when my boys were small (pre-1999!) our bed would have an airbed, duvet, sheet, duvet and the boys would be on a double airbed with a duvet under them and in their sleeping bags...it was the only way I would camp!

I have a self-inflating mattress from alpkit called the "fat airic" - the biggest one they did at the time, and 7 cm thick. They now do something called the "dozer" which I think is equivalent. They're selling for £60 at the moment, which is quite a lot, but worth every penny!

But not for much longer!!! :D

I've been trying some very simple lunges the last few days to try and strengthen my thigh muscles. As ever, I'm mostly motivated by vanity but a bit of strength will help too. My calves are good due to dancing but thighs incredibly weak (and flabby:(). If aches yesterday were anything t go by I'm winning!!

Last summer a friend challenged me to join her in the 30 day squat challenge, it made a massive difference to the strength and appearance of my thighs. I was glad when it ended though!
