Sorry you father's being difficult LL. I can recommend the meditation. If you google "Oprah and Deepak 21 day meditation challenge" you can do a free 21 day meditation with Oprah Winfrey and Deepak Chopra. I find it very good.0

As we ladies are so very excellent at multi-tasking, LL do you think that you might be able to combine your breathing practice with some mental excercise to combat the stress caused by father? a sort of visulisation of breathing in clear positive air and breathing out all the peskiness and thoughtlessness that he seems determined to heap on to you. At the same time as thanking "whoever" that you do not take after him:TThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Good morning ladies
Well today my fabbing consists of a little retail therapy and lunch with my friend;)
Hoping to buy my killer outfit for my husband's funeral. I also desperately need some bras.
Can't decide whether to try and book a hair appt. it looks ok but it's getting to that half way stage where sometimes it's fine and sometimes I can't do anything with it. What I should really do is establish a proper hairdressers slot so I don't dither so much. I don't like my hair at the moment so need to rethink it. It is now naturally almost white but I really miss my auburn tresses........
Time to get cracking. Have a good day.0 -
Morning all,
Just caught up with a few pages of thread as my internet has been playing up.
LL you amaze me with the way your coping with everything. I think a killer outfit is exactly the way to go, have a nice lunch x
Tru I'm 7 months on from my knee replacement. The exercises do get easier, but to be honest my leg is still sore and stiff. I'm walking as much as possible but boy do I suffer in the evening. I probably don't do as many strengthening/stretching exercises as I should. You've inspired me to start again, keep up the good work.
maman I also have a list if things I like to stick to
Follow my SW plan and go to group every week. ( got to my goal 10 this week yay )
Hot shower and blow my hair and wear make up every day, I feel so much better for it
Once a week usually on a Sunday I have a pamper night, so a nice bubbly bath. Light a candle, shave my bits:o a face mask, hair mask and body scrub. I usually pile on the body creme after and slither into my pjs.
I use moisturiser every day and a night cream and eye cream and hand cream every night.
I also paint my nails every other day and my toe nails once a week.
It sounds like a lot but I'm in a good routine now.
I don't know about anyone else but as I get older, I really enjoy time spent just on me. I usually spend as little as possible as we are on a very tight budget, but I really appreciate any pampering.
I'm recently loving you tube videos with new make up and house ideas.
Well enough waffle from me, have a fab day xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Sounds like a great plan LL. Enjoy yourself!!
I think the killer outfit is probably enough to focus on at the moment. Have a browse and see what you can find but don't be disappointed if nothing stands out. You'd be better off wearing something you already have and love than something that's just OK. It's something I learned when WW and sparkles used to post. If they didn't really love an outfit and it didn't fit perfectly it went back!
In the longer term I'd definitely focus on the bras and hair. One of the best things I did was to get properly measured. I'd advise an independent if you know one or somewhere like John Lewis. Now I know my proper size I always check what's in TKMaxx.
I know exactly what you mean by hair at an 'in between' stage. I've been having mine cut more regularly and it definitely helps. This time I'm stretching it into September to coincide with a holiday and family birthday and regretting it already!Morning all,

Wow! that's some list Julie and congratulations on your Club 10.:T
I've got into the habit of browsing the CSs. I started when I was losing weight as I didn't want to waste money on things I planned to grow out of!;) It also helped me to experiment with colour as I reckoned if I got fed up with/didn't like it then I could re-gift it. You have to wade through a lot of tat but there are some gems. Today I'm wearing a lovely White Stuff t shirt that's a CS buy.
Would love a link/ideas for some of the you tube things. My house is looking tired but DH has been really busy lately and DD1 has a few jobs for him in her home pending so we seem to be putting it off but I need some inspiration. I'll pick my moment to talk it over. We could get someone in but DH quite enjoys DIY when he gets going.
Back soon.:)0 -
Bought a beautiful pale grey/blue Jacques Verte silk dress and jacket in the sales. it is really lovely. Very Jackie O and the colour really sits well against my white hair. I will accessorise with my burgandy red paisley pashmina.
Not sure whether to wear the diamond necklace my husband bought or my mothers dark red garnet necklace. The garnets might look a bit too heavy against the delicate blue silk.
Oddly enough I bought some pretty grey/blue shoes a few weeks ago which are a perfect match. I won't carry a bag because I will be carrying a dark red rose to place on his coffin.
So just the hair appt to sort out now.
Also bought the obligatory bras and a very naughty mustard leather handbag which I don't need but which I fell in love with.
However my outfit only came to £51 so I'm perhaps not too naughty after all.0 -
Maman - one of my favourite house blogs is called hookedonhouses.net. It is an American site and it has a section on houses they use in films. Some of the houses are real, some of the interiors are just film sets.
My absolute all time favourite is the beach house from the film Something's Gotta Give. I shall definitely be pinching some ideas for my own house. Oddly enough I've already used a scheme similar to this in our old family house.
As you might guess all work on DS2's house has ground to a halt but I've set myself a target to get the inside more or less finished by Christmas.
it will be good for me to have something to focus on in the coming months. I do love house fabbing, I'm never happier than when I have a paint brush in my hand.
I won't be imposing my tastes on my son so I won't get too personal with this one. I will reign in my creative flourishes for when I buy my own little nest:rotfl::rotfl:
Talking about paintbrushes. I have found a wonderful local artist. She will paint to order.
Apparently she meets with you and then will paint something exclusively for you, based on elements of your life eg your favourite things, places etc - a sort of collage in oils. Basically a kalidescope of images which have personal meaning. I think I might commission a painting in OH,s. memory, incorporating his favourite things. Her paintings are a riot of colour and are really quite stunning.

Your outfit sounds lovely LL am sure you will look gorgeous
Lizzie hang in there, changing your responses to the things you cannot change is definitely the way to go x
Sorry for not individually commenting on everything else my mind has drawn a blank:o:o:o
Not loads of fabbing going on. Am back on the no poo bandwagon, going through transition again. I managed 7 days between bicarb washes with some HM shampoo inbetween as a little pick me up. Hoping this transition stage is quick as I am limited to what I can do with my hair in terms of styling it to disguise my oilier parts
Broken toe still peeing me off and it's still swollen. Getting fed up now as I can't do the exercise I want to
Ho hum that about all my news. Being badgered to play Mario Kart by DS so had better go keep him quiet.....hugs and high fives all round xxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Evening all
LL the outfit sounds fab. I'm in total agreement the house in something's gotta give is my dream home.
maman just type into the you tube search organising my home. They are just ordinary mums and housewives who show, cooking tips, organisational ideas which I'm addicted to.
One of my favourites is Do it on a dime. My favourite beauty bloggers are Ally Valentine, Essie button and Vivianadoesmakeup
They really are very addictive, I've picked up some great ideas and money saving tips. So far I've reorganised my makeup, my kitchen cupboards and my cutlery drawer:eek:
I also like the Christmas home tours, there are some great ideas.
Hope you enjoy xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
