Thank you Maman for the 'regular' list. There are some good pointers here. Rummer I need to do the 'again' bit with the sw thread too :o

Off to start a new term this morning. Going to write a small daily plan today to hopefully get some kind of fabbing routine going and think about a meal plan. Have a good day everyone :)

LL Your plans sound wonderful, a real celebration of your husband's life

Pedicure for me today, I'm armed with a foot file and some foot cream (S&G Heel Genius). I'll do that later this afternoon because I have a lot to do today. I want to float about the house with pretty feet after it's done, not sit there wondering if my toenails are dry enough to put my old trainers on to go down the garden and get dirty :D

My exercises are working well, although some feel like they're not doing doing much at the time, I can definitely feel it when I get up off the floor and stand up :D Others hurt but I just keep aiming thoughts at my leg – 'you're not going to beat me, I WILL win' :D

I'm struggling with food a bit. I've tried meal planning before but never fancy what's on the list for that day. I never know what I want til I'm hungry, and although I end up reaching for healthy food (most of the time!) - noodles, fruit, granary bread stuffed with ham and loads of salad, etc – I feel like I should have more structure. I don't actually know why I feel like I should, I just do :undecided

tru - I am not good at meal planning either, also never fancy what I am due to cook:(, but I do have a list "in my head" of main ingredients at hand/what needs using, and a few things that I can concoct from them. It is not perfect and I miss the occasional thing at the back of the fridge or in the veg drawer, but not too often as I hate waste. :(If I make a big batch of something I try and freeze some as HM ready meals for those cannot be bothered days, and OH never minds eating the same thing 2 or more days running (except fish oddly enough - he likes fish, but does not seem to favour it 2 days running:rotfl:)

Good morning,

No real fabbing to report here, other than I had my hair cut on Thursday (it's very very very short) and booked another appointment. I tidied my wardrobe last week, things look not too bad. The past two Saturdays I have worn skirts that didn't fit me very well a little while ago, so it appears I've shed some weight even though I still haven't sorted out anything in terms of exercise.

Best wishes to all of you.
• Hugs to all the strong, wonderful women here. You all inspire me!

So I've decided to switch weight training programs as I was stalling badly on Starting Strength. I've printed off a little chart with all my days and weights planned out for my new routine and am looking forward to getting started on that this lunchtime.

This weekend I pampered a little bit with a hair and a face mask and I am working very hard at growing out my eyebrows.

I also sorted out my wardrobe again this weekend, so feeling pretty good!
No more goo hoarding!

Good morning all

Just having a little break from all the "official" phone calls I have to make. It's a long list……...

Slept well last night having finally managed to put my father's bad behaviour behind me. I will deal with him later.:rotfl:

The minister is coming tonight so I suppose I had better tidy the house a bit. The laundry pile is slowly diminishing and I'm just going to put something in the slow cooker for dinner.

I've not weighed myself but I appear to have lost some weight. I am eating quite healthily trying to avoid wheat as much as possible so even my tummy is behaving itself.

Fab/healthwise I've got another physio session booked for Wednesday - not done any real exercise but have managed a little walk most days.

I dont menu plan as such. I tend to keep a well stocked store cupboard and there's usually plenty of food in the freezer so I often just "shop" from my existing supplies.

I generally check the fridge around twice a week to make sure that nothing is about to go off and that everything is used. I rarely need to throw anything away.

I don't batch cook as such but if I'm doing a casserole or say a bolognese mix then I usually have enough left over to freeze for another day. It took a while but I finally managed to train the boys that they do need to give me advance notice if there are likely to be extra mouths to feed. They used to be little devils for bringing their mates round for unscheduled sleepovers and then expecting a feast……..

Full English Breakfasts for 9 strapping lads at the drop of a hat:rotfl:

Great list of Regular Fabbing there Maman - sounds like you are very organised.

My advice is - if you are really pushed for time, then try and find just 10 minutes in your day to do one little thing. That would then be 7 things you do in a week (although I will allow you a Sunday off if you wish)……

Seriously, its all about a bit of TLC and a bit of personal space and time for yourselves. When you are busy it can be hard to find several hours to visit a salon or hairdresser (not forgetting the money aspect). There is a lot you can do at home, for very little expense. A few minutes each day will pay dividends in the long run.

Always remember it's a marathon, not a sprint. You don't have to do it all at once. Let little and often be your byword.

If you like lists and routines then fair enough but there's no need to panic if you miss the odd few days.

Remember the 80/20 rule. If you eat well and sensibly and exercise and do a little bit of personal fabbing for 80% of the time then that will be more than enough.

Like Maman - you will find it all becomes automatic. You won't even need to think about it, it will just happen. You'll be able to fab in your sleep.

And of course never forget - the best fabbing treatment of all is plenty of good quality sleep. Start there and the rest will follow.

Here's another one that agrees LL your plans sound like they will provide a fitting celebration of your OH's life and the dress idea is great. I love the way we can now have a send off appropriate for our needs.

I've been trying to step up the fabbing with facial exercises and more moisturising. I tend to start with good intentions but it drops off after a while.:o

Lots of things need doing here:o have managed to keep the kitchen tidy(ish) but we've been having some monster spiders in the house so really need to have a go at some of the other rooms. I suppose it'll be easier when the hols are over but i can do something now. We have gone on a few trips and have a couple more planned before sept. No week long holiday again(haven't been for the last 3 yrs) just can't afford it now you aren't allowed to go during school term. We only ever went in the uk and always sept/oct as that was all we could afford.

I have also dropped off on the meal planning -really need to empty the freezer though.

Still feeling a bit low but am sure it will pass (eventually). Still no answers to any of the problems keeping me awake at night so for now am just concentrating on what i can deal with. Having a fast day today as my eating went a bit haywire last week.

I guess we just have to keep at it until it all becomes habit.:)

Head down and just keep going Lizzie.

I promise you, there is light at the end of that long tunnel. You may not be able to see it yet, but it will be there.

One day the clouds will part and you will see your way forward. You will recognise that day when it comes.

Morning :hello:

I've had my third osteo appointment. I was dreading it tbh, the last one did a lot of good but it hurt sooo much. And although I could feel a difference after I'd done my exercises, I didn't think I'd loosened up much. But she said I was a lot looser than a few days ago, then asked if this was hurting, I said 'no, what do you mean?'. She'd been pulling my leg the same way as she did last time and I didn't notice :D I thought she was doing a different stretch altogether. Last time, my leg wouldn't move in that direction at all and it really hurt when she held it in the 'start' postion. I felt a bit stupid not knowing exactly what she was doing - in my defence, I couldn't actually see her, I was lying on my left side and she was behind me, working on my right leg :D It's a lot more relaxing now that I can wear shorts, the first two appointments were knickers only on the bottom half so she could see muscle movement etc. and I didn't like that AT ALL :D

I've got brain-drain today, it seems to happen the day after each appointment – I'll probably fall asleep on the sofa this afternoon then wake up feeling back to normal, like the last two times. I have a list of things to do in the house, I'll start with the easy stuff and see how it goes. No fabbing today, apart from leg stretches.

Hi everyone

Tru - good to hear that you are making such good progress with your leg. Physio can be pure torture but it is usually worth persevering. I think I would seize up without regular sessions

I e just got back from seeing my Physio. I've had the most awful chest pains.. Thankfully not heart related. They are just stress induced. The worst pain is smack bang in my sternum. The Physio commented that my breathing was rather shallow and a bit fast so I really need to practise some breathing and meditation type exercises.

I was doing fine until last SAturday when my father upset me. He's the one causing me stress, not the funeral. Arrangements are all under control so no problems there. He's even playing me up about whether or not to attend my husband's funeral

Well I've left it up to him, but frankly given his attitude I would prefer thAt he stAyed away.

If he knows what's best he would do well to steer well clear of me for now:rotfl::rotfl: I've resolved to let him and his antics just wash over me. My little cat is my new best friend, she's snuggled up to me as I write this. Oddly enough my cat allergy seems to be subsiding. I take an anti histamine every couple of days and that seems to be enough.

the boys are ok but like me they have moments of overwhelming tiredness, the odd dizzy spell And the occasional tummy upset.

Sometimes we struggle to sleep but really on the whole we are doing ok. I find the occasional glass of wine helps;)

Back to the paperwork....

Sorry about the typing. Using my iPad.
