LL you and your family are in my thoughts. Make sure to take time to look after yourself and enjoy the simple things in life.
I've not had much luck with fabbing the last few days. Friday I came down with cystitis, and had the day off work, so wasn't feeling on top form. Saturday I had my group on voucher booked for a hair treatment, cut and colour so was really hoping that I would be feeling better by then and not miss my appointment. I was, but I'm not very happy with the cut. The colour is ok, what I need really. I have got lots of layers or bleach and hair dye in my hair, so a while ago I decided to stop bleaching my roots and start getting my hair healthy again. This mean my hair colour was very patchy, so that sorted that out. It is actually a very nice colour, my problem is I love bright hair, which you can't really get (not on top of my natural colour anyway) without bleaching. The cut is too short for me, but at least it's getting ready of more ratty ends. It doesn't look too bad when I add curls (I love the messy look) but as my hair is poker straight it's a bit of pain, and I want to avoid heat styling as much as possible really. Oh well.
The worst is yet to come though. After I had my hair done I had some time before I was due to meet the OH, so I decided it was time to get my eyebrows threaded again. I specifically told the lady I wanted to "keep the thickness, just get them tidied up" Now I have no eyebrows. I am gutted. She said to me that my left eyebrow was thicker than the right, so she would even them up. Now the left eyebrow is soooooo thin (much thinner than the right now!) that it's missing in patches. I can't believe it! It's going to take so long to grow them back out again. I am applying castor oil to them in the evenings and have ordered an Anastasia Brow Whiz to fill them in, so I hope I can look normal eventually. Now I have woken up with what promises to be the mother of all spots over one of the spaces where my eyebrow used to be. Brace yourself! No more goo hoarding!

LL I think a gentle day sounds very wise. I was very taken by your description of the garden & the clouds. Those are the precious moments that will endure in your memory. The food you have planned for yourself sounds perfect. Carers often miss out on caring for themselves.
I have had a busy start today the day. I have been to Tesco & spent some time sorting out financial things in the building society. My DD is flying home on Thursday to recuperate from her operation. We will be very tight on space as we are still working on my bedroom. The painting is just about finished but we are waiting for a joiner to replace the damaged skirting and do a few other bits. It is a local bank holiday today, so I don't think he will come today. I then need to order the carpet & bed and OH needs to put up the curtain rail. I am looking forward to getting to the stage Julie67 is at where I can think about the nice accessories. I can't find the right curtains locally so will need to order some. I think this week will go past in a flash as I have a lot on. I am going to do a manicure & pedicure today before it gets too busy.0 -
PQ what a shame about your eyebrows and hair! I have often looked at the groupon vouchers, but never used them for beauty treatments as they are not local enough. I am getting a cut on Wednesday. I have a good, but expensive hairdresser. This means I can't afford to go very often. My last cut was the start of May. Every time I say I will try somewhere cheaper next time & then I go back to him again. The cost though means I can't afford to get the colour done in the salon.0

Morning everyone.
I've sorted my hair, washed it with the now-discontinued Pantene clarifying shampoo. I noticed it disappearing from the shelves a while ago so ordered twelve bottles! Would have bought more if there was more money in the bank, lol. Then smothered the conditioner on (Morrison's own brand) and left it for half an hour. It feels nice and soft now - and doesn't look like wire
I've filed my nails and used body butter on my hands, they feel much better. My nails seem very weak though so I'll have to sort them out.Bulletproof0 -
Hello all, I am back from my holidays
Pleased to report that I weigh the same as the day I left for it:T. I was very good food wise - this no sugar no wheat diet really works in the main. But I was a bit bad with the alcohol - though still only a glass or two of wine with dinner, but it was every night.
My feet are in a bad way, I need to focus on them for a while
My finger nails are broken
I was thinking of having a make up thing done, something to suit my 50 year old face better. Anyone had one - on the make up counter thread, bobbi brown is recommended. Not sure if there is one in Birmingham or Nottingham. - my nearest two cities.
I was also thinking of trying one of those face exercise books - anyone tried that or got any recommendations?I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

There is a Bobbi Brown counter in House of Fraser in Brum, on Corporation street (Rackhams as it used to be known).
I've never had a make up consultation however so can't advise there.
I have a book of facial exercises by Eva Fraser, it's a bit dated (pictures as opposed to photos) but it's clear and easy to follow (I just need to remember to do it!). To be really :money: though you could try YouTube for some videos, loads on there demonstrating the exercises.
No fabbing as such. Hip and back are playing up I think from a week of limping and compensating for broken toe. Yoga would help but I am quite nervous about doing too much with it still healing, I already kicked something with it Monday night by accident (pain was awful ). Maybe hubby would consider a back massage.
Hugs and high fives all round xxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

hi Fellow fabbers, I had my 1st competition win last week.. 200 pounds of hair products, tablets for hair and a hairbrush shaped like angel wings. I took it asd a sign that my luck had changed, and I even ordered a silver 4 leaf clover pendant, but I stood too long in a post office queue and I've got another hernia. I am devastated, I've been through such hell with sepsis, almost dying, then 4 bowel surgeries , 2 ostomy bags, and 2 huge hernias. 6 months on and I so thought all the surgeries were behind me. Now I have to go through a ever increasing boulder in my belly , feeling like a 1 humped freak while I wait a looong time on the NYHS for more scary surgery. I'm so devo. My self seteem is on the floor anyway and I just can't do this again. It's like being in a medical horror story.. bowel surgery is so brutal and the wait is so excrutiating. Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE0

Sorry to hear about your eyebrows. I have only had threading done twice and both times ended up with no brows. Despite asking for only re grow to be removed. I now just stick to waxing every 4 weeks like clockwork.
I have been back on the healthy eating and have been enjoying more greens and been at spin class last two night. So on one hand fabbing doing well, on another I fell in carpark at work y-day and have skinned all my legs an knees, also bruised my chin so feeling a bit sorry for myself. Lots of bio oil to get legs cleaned up for holiday at the end of the month !!

Morning :hello:
The osteopath was brilliant :T My pelvis is slightly out of line, which has pushed the muscles into the wrong place and one of them is pressing on my sciatic nerve. She pushed and pulled me all over the place, I was convinced I was going to be tipped off the table at one pointShe warned a couple of times that she was going to push right down deep on the knotted muscle – that hurt a lot, I was thinking “keep your mouth shut, say nothing, let her do her thing....” then when she stopped, it felt like something had been unblocked and there was a weird feeling all the way down my leg, deep inside near the bone, like something had started flowing again. She said what it was but I can't remember, lol. She told me not to worry if I feel like I can't do much today, I might feel sore and tired. Yes to both, and my brain doesn't want to function properly either
I can stretch right out, it feels brilliant. I'm going back next friday for more torture, lol.
I can sort out some exercise now. I'm allowed to do as much yoga as I like - I was worried I might cause damage so was waiting for advice.
My tweezers have been hijacked by master tru, he decided they're the perfect tool for feeding crickets to his gecko  I've stolen them back and cleaned them off with bleach.

faerielight Good grief, how do you cope with all that? I hope the surgery goes well. Congrats on the win xxBulletproof0 -
Ouch, sounds like loads of people are experiencing pain or discomfort at the moment. Gentle hugs to those in need.
faerielight Great news about the competition winAs for the ongoing medical issues all I can say is that you are a very strong lady to be dealing with so much. Since you have experienced so much is there any way you could go to someone to talk it through to maybe help you develop some new ways of coping? Remember we are all here if you need to unload or share daily triumphs.
Well I am back on the fabbing wagonI don't understand why I find it so difficult to make the time to take care of me? There is plenty of time in my day however I fritter it away on the internet, TV and laundry :rotfl: I talked it over with a good friend who pointed out a few things I had been in denial about and I am now more determined than ever to get sorted
The house is packed with healthy foods, the meals for the week are planned and everything is in ready to be cooked. My PT session was yesterday and I have a workout plan to follow for the week which is brief, intense yet achievable. I have pencilled in fabbing time to get all the little bits of personal maintenance done and I have a pile of craft things to help me relax and discourage me from snacking!
So I will be reporting regularly here to keep me on track!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
