Oh faerielight, I feel for you, so much to cope with healthwise. Hope you get some relief soon.
I've been feeling a bit low this week. Nothing spectacularly wrong, difficult to be specific, and considering some of your aches and pains, trials and tribulations I think I need to give myself a big kick.
I'm just about keeping up with fabbing.
Determined to have a productive day today. I'm going to eat healthily (been out eating last two days) and do a bit more decluttering as that can be quite cathartic.
Back soon.0 -
thanks guys for the support, the hernias are so awful for self esteem as they get huge and it becomes impossible to hind the one sided hump. Plus the waiting list for surgery is so long. I really need some counseling, but with the nhs cuts, I can't get any and I can't afford to pay for it as I'm signed off sick and on benefits .Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE0

Gentle hugs to those in pain and feeling down. My fabbing is a bit hit and miss, I do look quite presentable each day, but the nails are not getting polished and the legs a little fuzzy.
My cuticles had become awful, but giving them attention, a little and often as didn't want to be too brutal:( Hay fever/allergy is back, but less than before, although I only managed cycle ride of less than two miles yesterday evening as eyes were streaming and sore.
Off to PT soon, but have no energy, only 5 sleeps until my B12 injection, I should have been supplementing to try and keep my energy levels higher, but somehow have missed to do this. Hair cut done, so all in all not too bad:D

Faerylight poor you. That's just awful. Hope you get some comfort and relief.....take care of yourself.
Went to Physio yesterday. Like Tru I felt brilliant. Like a fool I then overdid things yesterday. Today I decided to clean out the wheelie bin and snap that was it. My back has gone into spasm. I,m lying here having applied maximum strength voltarol, taken two high strength paracetamol and with an ice pack on the offending area.
I'm supposed to tKe it gently for a day or so after Physio but no, I didn't listen.....I very much doubt that I will be able to drive so won't be able to visit OH today. I,ll rest up for a while and see how it goes.
I'll just have to use my time productively and perhaps try and do a paperwork catch up, although sitting is a bit of a problem.
When will I learn:rotfl:
We still have our little stray cat. I daren't touch her yet but I seem to be acclimatising. I keep her out of my bedroom, DS2 brushes her fur every day and I take an anti-histamine. So far I seem to be coping.
She seems to sense when I,m sad and comes and shares the sofa with me, often lying on my feet. Looks like she's now a permanent resident. I find myself chatting away to her. I must be going soft in my old age.
OH about the same, some friends came to visit him yesterday and he was quite perky for a while although he soon became very tired. He's starting to look very thin and frail - hardly surprising ....:(0 -

:rotfl:what a pity I never learn my lesson about my wretched back though. I am so cross with myself today. Of course it always happens when I can least afford the down time.
Just rang the nursing home. Not looking good at all. Hopefully if I rest today then I can drive tomorrow. Thankfully my car is an automatic so one I can sit up straight (ish) and can stagger to and from the car then I'll be able to go and see him. If I really can't drive the boys will take me.
The nurse I spoke to mentioned the anticipatory drug package. Looks like they are going to get them made up in readiness. Probably for the best because we don't want any delays due to weekend chemist closures if he gets distressed over the weekend.
So today it's enforced rest. Might watch a nice film. I've finally managed to get a grip with Netflix.
Luckily I put a beef casserole on in the slow cooker before I hurt my backso dinner shouldn't be too difficult for ds2 to finish.

Lovely to catch up with everyone. I think like Rummer I struggle to keep focused at times. I am another one in lots of back pain. I went for a haircut yesterday and between walking to shops (10 mins each way) and walking round the shops, my back is very painful again. It is so frustrating. I am encouraged by Tru's account of the osteopath though. When I can afford it, I will give this ago if still in pain. LL I hope your pain gets better soon
.
Faerielight well done on the win. Do keep going with the comps, I have had some lovely wins over the years.
I am off to the airport to collect my dd soon. She is still on crutches, but thankfully with operation over she will be on the mend. Her experience has totally put me off road cycling though. Thankful for the great off road tracks here.
Not much fabbing done. I had a haircut yesterday and visited Lush. I spoke to a sales person and she recommended Movis face soap and a couple of moisturisers. I have used the movis twice. My skin felt much tighter after it (though not as bad as regular soap). I have been using the superdug version of Liz Earle cleanse & polish and this has been lovely. I tried the Lush product to get something more natural.0 -

It would be worth doing some online research as there are a number of charities in our area that offer counselling for free both in person and over the phone so there may be alternative sources near you.
Plus you should be added to the waiting list for NHS services, there may be a wait but at least it would be a step in the right direction. Do you know of any support groups for your conditions? They may be useful too.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
I think we need to start a new club.

thanks so much for the support guys.. the waiting lists for low cost counsellin g are full atm, but I will keep checking. I have had low cost therapy before, but for a different trauma. I', so devo cos I was starting to feel better self esteem wise, but hernias are so ugly and they get so big they are so hard to hide with clothes and they turn me into a hermit with sub zero self esteem. I've lost another 4 pounds this week tho which is good. I'm down to 14 stone 4, got a way to go yet but I'm heading for a size 18 and that's over 2 stone loss in the last year. I did get my hair cut and roiots re highlighted, I'm going to continue until this monstrous thing gets too big to face going out, I'm off to the cinema tonight for the 1st time since all my surgery nightmares started 3 years ago. I don't feel like going but I'm going to make myself go. what competitions have you won over the years? xxMany thanks to all who contribute on MSE0
