My healthy eating hit a stumbling block today and I had a coconut mocha iced drink and a brownie :o I did however skip the cream on the drink and walked for a few miles to burn off a few of the calories :rotfl:

I did wear a nice dress and styled my hair so I looked quite smart, I skipped the makeup as I looked fine without :D

LL big hugs from me too. His sadness is a truer reflection of the depth of his love for you than any words on a card could be.

LL ((hugs)) As Prudent says it shows how much a seemingly small thing causes sadness because it is an expression of his love for you.

you are both so lucky to have such a wonderful realationship and my heart goes out to you both.

LL, so sorry. I had wondered if your dear OH would struggle with your birthday bearing in mind the prognosis and his inability to be able to choose and write a special card or buy what may be a last gift for you. Hugs and caring thoughts to you all.

Thanks for all our kind wishes.

Must admit I'm feeling fragile and weepy but trying not to wallow in misery……

It looks like being a hot one today so I've fabbed up in beige linen trousers and a pretty top which has butterflies printed on. It always gets loads of compliments. I'm off to visit mum and dad today and all the old dears in the nursing home always comment on my top.

Didn't feel like making an effort. Tbh what I really feel like is just drawing the duvet over my head and staying there forever….Hey ho - you just have to haul yourself out of the pit of doom and get on with it.

    Talking about doom and gloom.

Poor Brazil. What on earth has happened to them. I'm not really a footie fan but I always watch England for patriotic reasons and even I could appreciate the style and class that was once the mighty Brazil.

I could only bear to watch the first half…..

I can only echo what everyone else has said LL. I thinking of you and your OH.

I went to the gym for the first time after my holiday Monday lunchtime and did my regular routine (I lift weights). I'd only taken a 1 1/2 week break yet I can hardly move! I'm going to go again today as Ive heard the best thing is to work through it (as long as it's just DOMS and not an injury).

I also got three t-shirts and a dress in the AllSaints sale. 70% off! A bargain! I started sorting out some of my wardrobe last night for the 333 challenge. Like someone said, it's so difficult planning for summer in England! I still need jackets and cardigans and jeans as well as all the stuff for the hot days. The main trick will be finding somewhere to store all the extra clothes that won't go in to my wardrobe.
    No more goo hoarding!

The things for different weather aspect of a small wardrobe is the bit I like the best. I live near the sea so we're prone to wind, rain and when it's sunny, it's sunny! Anything that can layer is ideal.

Dresses or tunics that can be worn on their own when it's hot, but layered up with jeans or leggings and a cardi/jacket over the top when it's not. Vest tops and t-shirts can be worn with shorts when it's hot and under a jumper/cardi/jacket with jeans when it's cooler. Shirts that can be worn open as a casual cover up/light jacket in the heat can be worn as a normal shirt with trousers or a skirt if it's cold, alone or with something over or under it. All that type of thing.

PQ well done on your bargain dresses! I must admit to be struggling too. Re-read what Alec eiffel had written to try and get a hang on it more. I started on thinking about my 333 wardrobe yesterday. I am properly starting when I go back to work after the summer holiday mid August. I got a couple of good CS buys today. A white Monsoon blouse which is very light weight with 3/4 sleeves. I have something similar from the Indigo collection in M&S and I wear it loads because it is so versatile. I often find it is in the washing basket when I want it, so another one seemed a good idea. I also got a per una short sleeved work blouse. It was in good colours to go with my work trousers.

I came off the rails with eating a bit last night and indulged in some chocolates :o Then to compound it the most healthy thing I could find for breakfast was bran flakes. I hadn't managed a supermarket shop as my shoulder was sore yesterday, but thankfully managed one today. I made up for it by having a smoothie for lunch: watercress, canatloupe melon, red grapefruit, sprig of mint, spinach, hemp seed and mango. Very yummy.
