    Happy birthday LL.

Great work with the Blog SweatyBetty and glad you're enjoying the 333 Project - I have lost count of how many things I have on the go - a bit more than 33 but I am still sticking to similar principle using a contained selection of approx 1/3 of the contents of my wardrobe and a chosen few shoes / boots. It certainly makes life easier in deciding what to wear and I'm enjoying my clothes and like planning ahead for next day what I will wear.

I have never really been one for saving things for best, it's never long before I wear newest and best clothes for work. I only have one dinner service and we use the crystal glasses on a regular basis.

This weekend I fabbed up my fridge and pantry and had a right good clear out, decanted half open packets, topped up all storage jars, consolidated the duplicates  refilled spice jars and re-arranged everything in an orderly fashion - at least I can see what's in there now and it all feels a bit more in control.

Prudent - what pretty crockery. Gorgeous. Definitely use it!!!!

Well this week starts with me going back on the wagon - big time. This morning I went for a much needed physio appointment - feel much better now. The "Orangutang Walk" is not a good look.;)

I've also booked a dentist's appt for tomorrow because I've got a bt of twinge. Ignoring it won't make it go away so I thought I'd get it seen to sooner rather than later - try and save myself some discomfort.

    More money:o

I've just unpacked my shopping. I'm at the bungalow with only a mini fridge so I could only buy a couple of things and they have to be "easy" because I've only got a limited amount of cookware here.

I was stunned to see I had picked up a greek salad for lunch, a moussaka for dinner and a greek yoghurt for tomorrow's breakfast. Do you think my subconscious is trying to tell me something :rotfl:

How I would like a nice cruise round the Greek Isles or a few days on one of the islands right now. However, given OH's current condition I daren't go anywhere. I certainly don't feel I could holiday away from the UK.

A day trip to Skeggie is about all I feel I could risk at the moment, better still I'll just make that a deckchair in my fab new back garden. Save my pennies for a cracking holiday when I'm ready.

Re the natural products. I make my own lotions and potions but haven't yet tried bath products, soaps or shampoos. I will have a go at some point.

I'm currently trialling a shampoo make by Greenpeople - not very impressed. It seems to leave my hair very greasy so I've more or less given up.

That website looks interesting though - lots of Australian products. My sister used to live in NZ . She and her husband used to run a back packers hostel and they used to get lots of products left behind. She rates some of natural Australian products very highly. I will show her that site and ask her which ones she recommends.

I'm really looking forward to fabbing my new kitchen, definitely going to use my good stuff. I have chosen an Induction hob this time and of course none of my pans are compatible but as they are over 20 years old I don't feel too guilty at having to replace them. I bought a wok today to give it a trial run tomorrow.

I also lashed out and bought a new iron.

    Right time for that salad……..

    Have a great day.

Great win pru. The dinner sets look really lovely.

I have a set that only comes out on high days and holidays but have decent quality white bone china for every day use. Maybe I'll start using the 'best' stuff on a Sunday or something.

I'm stunned at how well you've planned how to organise using your bedroom furniture.

I'm beginning to feel inspired about the wardrobe declutter and thanks for clearing up the 'occasion' wear question and the holidays abroad clothes. I can't see me getting down to 33 but if I start having a sort through and wearing some of the stuff I've got it'll be a start. Then anything I'm not happy with can go to the CS.

Does anyone keep 'house' clothes in the sense of old pairs of trousers for doing housework? Do you change out of your good clothes when you get in from work/shopping/lunch whatever?

ETA: Your post reminds me of Shirley Valentine. DH and I still repeat her mantra 'Passports, Tickets, Money' when we 're setting off somewhere just like she did when she was off to Mykonos. Whatever you do, don't start smashing plates LL!:rotfl:

I was going to mention Greenpeople products, my husband uses them as his skin is very sensitive. The shampoo didn't suit him either, it didn't seem to remove all the product he uses, I really like it though. He really gets on with the shower gel though, I like the lipbalm too.

eta, yes, I have clothes just for wearing around the house, they're still fairly nice though, not scruffy or anything.

Yes I have "house clothes". I also have gardening clothes and decorating clothes………

By the time they get to decorating clothes they are usually donkey's years old. When they are stiff with paint then they get chucked out - not even fit for the rag bag.

I do wear my "good clothes", I don't keep them for very best but I wouldn't wear them for lounging around in the house.

I think Project 33 looks interesting and it is certainly a good way of weeding out stuff - especially as it is for 3 months. The problem I find is that here in the UK we don't really have 4 definite seasons - there is a lot of overlapping so how would I go on putting things away.

Or, as my husband used to tell foreigners, we have two seasons in the UK - 9 months winter and three months of hell……

Like Maman - I do like to dress in a way in which I think is "occasion appropriate". Oh dear that sounds a bit pompous but I think you understand what I mean.

Perhaps I'm a bit old fashioned in a sense.

I am well aware that fashion mores change over time and that boundaries are more fluid than they used to be but I know there are certain occasions when I would feel uncomfortable if I dressed down too much.

I couldn't for example go wandering around the streets or into a restaurant or shop only wearing a bikini top. I would have to cover up. And, although I'm a confirmed atheist, I still wear long sleeves or a light shawl when visiting churches or temples - no idea why it just seems respectful.

I still scrub up well and love to have the opportunity to get glammed up. ) I especially love evening dress. Unfortunately I haven't been to a black tie event or a posh race meeting in years.

alec eiffel thank you for the mention of the FB page for project 333. I enjoyed having a look.

I really enjoyed the treat of my aromatherapy massage. It was an incentive to go out to the aqua aerobics first as they were at the same place.

Maman I will make space for some house clothes. I like to do my housework in the morning and then have a shower and get changed to go out.

The more I read about the capsule wardrobes the easier it is for me to find the things I want and make them work for me. I can't say I haven't bought a couple of things thinking they were ideal and they just haven't worked, but I'm certainly more hits than misses. Other than shoes, I'm still struggling with shoes (I don't wear leather).
    week everyone.

I've been thinking about what you said about shoes.

I've got these in black (probably only available in winter) and they're amazing, as comfy as slippers. I wear them any time I'm likely to be walking a lot (sightseeing, shopping).

At this time of the year I've got a couple of pairs of espadrilles and there are lots of pretty sandals/flip flops around that aren't leather.

For a smarter shoe, lots of the 'patent' heels aren't leather either.

I am not too concerned about greatly reducing the clothes I have, I just wanted to clear the things that were not doing me any favours ;) Then I just needed a couple of key pieces to link the remaining things into a selection of outfits.

In regards to house clothes I now no longer have scruffy clothes that I wear as I fell into the trap of wearing them out and about :o Instead now that I am on maternity leave I wear smart casual clothes during the day which are comfy to wear around the house until it is PJs time.

Healthy eating went well today :D although I am feeling a bit tied to the kitchen so I will need to find some things to make that take less time and effort.

The house fabbing continues and it is looking better with each passing hour :D

Thanks all! I was really surprised to be on the 333 project fb page - I guess they did a web search and found me :)

I'm really enjoying it so far, it actually feels a bit odd packing extras for a holiday with no laundry facilities. I think someone else was saying that they were feeling almost invigorated by getting rid of things - I'm sort of feeling like that. But that's probably because I'm finally realising that I don't need all those clothes, plus I'm (slowly) learning that just because something's in fashion, doesn't mean it suits me...

I know it's not for everyone though.

I'm loving the organised wardrobe idea. I've just started to sort out toiletries (I have a whole drawer of them) so I'm on a quest to use them all up (or at least not buy any more while I have this stash). I'm looking forward to having the wardrobe space when I use it all :)

By the way, I have strange patches of dry skin on my wrists and palms (!!) - normal hand cream isn't touching them, does anyone know what else I can try?

SW I got a couple of bottles of this from a comp win:

    https://www.aveeno.co.uk/products/cream

I found it cleared up dry areas that other creams simply weren't dealing with. I mostly use body shop body butter, but I find the Aveeno better on my upper arms. It doesn't need much either, which makes it quite economical.
