Anyone else have a son who enjoys this?
Not a son but lots of DD's male friends are enjoying them - indeed she was teaching one of them at the childminder's last week!
We have all sorts of colours not just the pink/purples but seem to be getting stuck on flag combos! *Another trip to The Works at lunch tomorrow  *0 -
The Works, £1.49 gets you some bands, a loom and a hook, bags of 300 are 99p - loads of colours.
£3.50 should have you going for AGES!0 -
Can anyone tell me the name of the loom which you can move around? We've got a couple of fixed looms but DD wants a specific one for some design she's seen and I have no idea what they are called.0

A couple of questions
Do I have to get a hook or will a crochet hook be suitable?
How much does a pack of 300 looms make? how many bracelets would you get out of it?
Which is the cheapest shop to buy from?
Thanks
you get a hook included in the packs - the pound shops have them in bags of 300 each.

Really expensive and in no way recommending but one marketed at boys0 -
Seaside pound shops are full of these btw. Looms and bands are VERY cheap. DD has come home from our recent break with thousands of the beggars.0

The Entertainer do them in camo colours for boys
The hooks come in the bag with the bands, they're around £1 a pack pretty much everywhere.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Yes, I am a Loom addict too! my grandkids fault, they showed me how to do them, then I looked them up on youtube, and now I am making my own designs. um, am I a bit old to be playing with rubber bands at age 60? (I just give the bracelets and necklaces to the grandkids and their friends)0

Yes, I've literally just got back from the shop with DD to buy more. The Works and Poundland stock 99p bags of looms, I am wearing a pretty one now.
DD makes bracelets and sends them to her cousins in New Zealand and Oz and vice versa, so it is a very expensive hobby but very sweet. My husband wears them to the office, I think it's become quite trendy amongst dads to wear your child's bracelets..
rofl - every time I make one for GS2 I have to make an identical one for his dad as well (and DIL informs me that he wears them to the office too!)0 -

:rotfl: I can see myself getting quite addicted and 'borrowing' the stuff once ds is in bed, did you see the flowers in the pot on the link posted above, they look amazing I would like to make something like that.
Think i will be popping to the works sometime this week after work.
