All this talk of racisim is pathetic...I have never heard or seen anyone scream...YOUR A RACIST if someone describes the guy in the pub for example..as the Welsh guy,Irish guy,Scottish guy...if stating this family are Polish is racisit why not the guy in the pub.. Maybe it's because by stating in a conversation where a certain person/family are from is not racist.

I too am British and work for an international organisation, your blinkered rose tinted view does not reflect reality. But just how does working in the ar*ehole of Switzerland qualify you for anything? In fact why mention it?

i have not read all the comments here but if you have a video camera or a smart phone please try to video record what they are doing it and record any communication you have with them, will help your case even more as you have actual evidence that they ignore what you told not to do.

I would give them hell back, i've had this type of thing before but i had not done anything to hit them where it hurts, its a tough one but like others say do not mention that they are polish.

I would also call the police as it is trespassing and show them the video footage.

There are numerous smart phone apps that can video or mic record what is going on at night such as Dream Catch for iphone this is mic only. look for any app that says spy cam for instance.

I would be on the council and lettings agency back about it every day, also do you know the owner of the house complain to them as well.

I don't think the thread has gone done the gutter. It's just a pity that the term 'racist' is being used with zero thought and understanding of the term's true meaning, not to mention origin. Also, a google search will reveal other threads on this board where an OP has mentioned nationality and had not been given any grief. In fact, there is plenty of this sort of discussion on the Polish Forums where Polish people have written about the 'different culture'.

But back to the OP, if the OP complains to the Council they will first try the written warning approach. The OP must tell the Council that the family is Polish as this will ensure such correspondence will be written in Polish.

Well, if we are not 'allowed' to refer to people by any descriptor, such as 'Polish' does that also mean we are no longer allowed to use terms like: scroungers, !!!!!!, and chavs?

I just hope the OP is sure that the family are Polish (e.g. they have confirmed it in writing, produced their passports etc.) If they are just assuming because they 'sound foreign' that would be the most racist thing in the world.

I think you could be right as my area which has been quiet, calm and pleasant for 25 years is now awash with street punch-ups, police cars in the middle of night and constant noise of motorbikes revving and idiots partying on the roof at 2 am on a weeknight. You can be arrested for calling a traveller a '!!!!!' as it is considered an ethnic sluri, can't see them phoning 999 they will just rearrange your face for you instead.
Chav and !!!!! basically mean the same..!!!!! through the years has had many meanings and is in fact used by gypsys to call someone that has been cast out of their family for stealing from them etc..

Well scrounger can be applied to many people in many situations.
