    Ive just stumbled on this thread and this jumps out at me, i know someone who has a mobility car and they are 67 so how does this work?

    If you are getting DLA mobility before you reach 65, you can carry on claiming it.

    If you get mobility problems after you're 65, you don't get any help.

    Thanks, but that makes no sense to me as when your older you are more likely to need it:eek:

    Which is why the rule exists! The DWP doesn't want to have to pay out mobility benefits for the majority of pensioners.

    I have never looked at it this way as been lucky and never needed it, but you may be able to help me with a question although dont want to hi jack this thread, would it be ok to ask please?

    Its about benefit, an elderly gentleman i clean for is almost 80, his son(56yrs) had a car accident 28 yrs ago and is brain injured and limited mobility, they get no help apart from me for cleaning , the father gets no money for looking after son , son gets dla and mobility is this right? as i thought he should get something

    It was the care manager at the council. Thanks for the tips on getting someone else to check it. I'll get my Mam onto that.

    I'd say that's a question for a new thread, and probably on the benefits board rather than this one.
