This is crazy. I go from not posting or even visiting MSE for weeks to posting twice in one day.
So tonight I'm sitting with the little one who has a sickness bug and decided I would find out exact balances, exact apr's and my payments due tomorrow. Somehow I have managed to already pay one of my credit cards for the month. :j Now I have a puzzle. Do I pay what I was going to off the card as extra or put it towards my new emergency fund? I'm thinking as much as I should do the first option, having no emergency fund in the past has left me up #### creek. I really want and need to get this in place. Perhaps I will do half and half. A bit for emergencies and some off the balance.
I need to calm down. Im getting over excited again and this is where it goes wrong.
One more bonus for the month is that I have loads of stuff left from last months food shop so that will be less to pay out than expected.
I wish I could succeed at the £10 a day challenge but I find it impossible. Those people are amazing with what they achieve.
Right off for a mooch around the diaries. Night x1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Thanks inod. I think that's the best idea.
I'm on a roll this morning. I have paid one card then realised if I paid £10 more it would be under £200 so I'm going to do another quick payment in a while. I have also filled up the car for the month. I have a small shopping list as I have loads left and will go and get this at 8am. I will do the main months shop next Friday when DH gets paid.
I also have loads of bread flour so I'm going to make a batch of dough for some bread rolls for the freezer.
I still need to get gas and electric and pay the nursery fees but will do that later today.
I've also noticed the more I'm taking control the tidier the house gets.:T I'm afraid the state of the house always gives away my mental state, along with the state of my nails.
Have a wonderful day. I hope this morning sun hangs around.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

I have just updated my snowball as the information was completely out of date. Actually i did it twice as the first time it gave me a DFD of December 2026.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Actually when I managed to engage my brain and did it again it said 20 months and December 2016. Not flippin likely. I know it's better that the first figure but it's going to be before that.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Hello diary
Today I started on the next part of my journey now I seem to be getting my head around the money part, my house which I intend to make a decent looking home. I'm one of those people whose state of mind is reflected in the home/lifestyle is chaotic at times. This has lead to a stupid amount of hoarding and not keeping up with maintenance and general housework. Now I think the hoarding is due to having so little money for such a long time and hanging onto every little thing possible. This has to stop. I only want things which I use and which I love.
The other part of the chaos relates to a three year old, many, many toys and a small bedroom with little storage space. Now the larger room is taken by a half brother who uses it about once every three months for a night. I have decided and informed DH that this is changing and they are swapping. This will mean all toys can be put in the room apart form what he wants to play with that day leaving the rest of the house not looking like T#ys R U$. This will also give me a fighting chance of getting on top of everything.
Today has been a day of washing, decluttering and general tidying. Tomorrow will be much the same but with the small person at nursery for the morning so I can probably get six times more work done.;)
Right now is getting more washing off the line , ironing what needs be and putting it away.
By the time I'm finished I will become Kirstie Allsop albeit a very short one.;)1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

What a lovely, sunny but chilly day.
I have been in a bit of a quandary today. My little one starts school in September and I have two night covered for picking him up but the other night is a bit of a problem. I don't finish work until 5.30 which is exactly when the school club finishes. I have in the past considered dropping half a day and just doing 2 1/2 days before but worried about the debts. I currently have three cards, two with larger balances and one with a small balance. I have worked out that with my normal payment for the next four months I could pay off the small one and most of one of the larger ones leaving a small balance on that and one at about £1000. The total figure would be about £1500 which I could then cover these with a reduced salary. But then I thought............
I need to challenge myself to make more money, be as frugal as is possible and get as much of all three paid off as possible.
Thinking cap on. I do some self employed work at times and need to increase this. I have nothing to sell, well maybe I do but I tend to look at stuff and just see junk.
I need to think sensibly and plan carefully. No just jumping at things but food for thought.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

No unfortunately not INOD. They are very much take and little give. They happily take extra hours given but don't budge when time is needed.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Things are going very well here at the moment. Life seems to be taking many positive turns and my mindset seems to have changed permanently. Money is still an issue but I feel that I have much more motivation to deal with it.
I have been doing lots of work in the garden getting as many veggies sorted as I can. I still have room for more so I want to use this space as productively as possible. The more I can grow, the more money I will save. I just need to find some more recipes which I can use to keep me motivated. I'm not the most adventurous cook.
The house is also starting to look so much better. This is having the most positive effect on my state of mind.
Right breakfast then over the park with the little one. Then a day of gardening and clearing out.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%
