    Hi Pippi,
I just remembered something about chooks that I learned from a while ago and how if you've one girl who's getting henpecked the best thing is to get a cockeral as he'll keep the ladies in line and stop all this ganging up business. Only thing is I can't recall where I heard it.
maybe give the hen rescue people a call to see what they recommend?

...at least its even numbers :D...

...because of course odd numbers would have been just that...ODD...:)

:jLast day of the month - Pay has hit bank account and budget for August done (on the back of an envelope in true 'Hypno' style) - squeakyier than squeaky clean as OH still looking! - Unfortunately his trade is a dying art - have told him he's a bit of a dinosaur - lol - ;) - he's visiting the realm of tranferable skills now with a lovely coach who's ripped his cv to shreds & is now getting him to build it up again - something called a functional resume?!?

Hope everyone has a wonderful day - it's still sunny and (sortof) warm here - hope the forecast is glorious where all of you are - at least the winter woolies are still packed away so that's a good sign:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)
(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)
    ...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)
New projection - 14 YEARS 8 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 16 mths)
Psst...I may have started a diary!
  • Well done on the money shuffle RT and goodluck with the 'functional' cv - I wonder if its to highlight transferrable skills rather than job titles (nae clue here to be honest) sounds like a nightmare.

Fannyadams - thanks so much for that link. Very interesting - perhaps I've been isolating the wrong candidate! I'm pondering a cockeral. I'm keener to have birds alone and not deal with the issue of random batched of peedie chooks but he might sort them out. I'll do what they suggest too, I've already put the bullied bird beside the others run and feed her first - so they're socialising without bullying her.

    Its a worry.

Beanie indeed, everyday - how are you today.

Worked late last night printing leaflets most of the night off and on.

    Use up tea.

    Last day of the month.

Who'd have thought August just kind of happenned.

Lots to do today paid and unpaid. Be glad when its time to sit down and breathe seems like there's no time at the mo.

Work will settle we've a big event soon and I'm helping with tech support.

    :)

  • Morning lands - yay its Friday when if you work at home doesn't really mean much but its still an exciting new day.

I promise not to whine too much, but I feel like I've got the 'pox. Some kind of tiny mite bug thing is biting me like I'm the last thing standing they'll eat (and that's with me resorting to bug cream).

Went to the pharmasitist yesterday and she prescribed anit-h's and cream. One makes me feel like a zombie and niether seem to be helping I have to say. But on the positive I'm close to 100 bug bites, when I think I get a star and everything.

Its not fun. Back to the tiger balm and marmite sandwiches I think.

Anyhows, in dire desperate times, covered in the 'pox - I had a help from a chum and deglazed the greenhouse yesterday in anticipation of it being moved over the weekend.

So the glass is safely here.

DS got his first pay cheque (WOO HOO) and so we hit a large supermarket of green description and he filled up on lunch making fodder, treats (two packets of biscuits) and some Cider for the warm nights. Clever lad, we both got a wee treat too.

Mutlets got a wee walk at the beach but I have to confess I did just sit for some of it. The heat is still here and my poor head was befuddled by the anti-h's so I was just so tired.

Anyways - early bed, restless night.

Today I'm thinking of ditching the meds, they just make me feel like a zombie.

Time for a cuppa and a plan of largely indoor things here and at the flat through by.

I'm fed up being bug food. Although I remember this phase ends soon and the midges arrive.

Did I mention I'm missing the frozen north - its bug free largely.

    :)

Cuppa/banks etc - we all know the drill!

RT hows the searching going for hubby?
L - hows that pesky back for hubby?

Everyone how are you and what plans for the weekend :D

Anyone wish to bring a spanner over...........:D

Or Garlic Sandwiches????? I thought that an Av0n product..... So Soft???? in a certain colour bottle, now was it the pink or green?? Was supposed to work well. Don't hearty lumber jack types use it in your neck of t'woods???? I'm sure I read that somewhere.

Much as I'd love to come and help you move and re-glaze your greenhouse........ :p (actually, done it enough times to be reasonable at it :D) ........ DP and I will be trying to find the motivation to 'move the house' around. We've had a promise of a trades type person maybe gracing our humble abode on Sunday...... I'm afraid we've been let down so much this year, I'll believe it when I see it :( And panic like h3ll because I've failed to prepare enough, if they do turn up..... :rotfl::rotfl:

Have a great day Pipster - *waves* to the Stripey Gang :D

Forgot to add - I liked the description of DS making decisions with his first real 'pay packet' - a right of passage, but a fun thing to read about too :D I was talking to a youngster at the weekend who is having the 'learn or earn' dilemma. They have been earning good money over the summer, so of course, college in September is no longer such an attractive proposition.......

Its a dilema Greying - earn or learn. There's a balance in there somewhere. DS is missing his 'tother family' but he's happy to be working too. 3rd year soon. Wowser.

Today's list (cos otherwise I'll go off the rails and lounge about and eat chockies and scoff wine no doubt.)

    Washing (at flat)
    Bit cleaning/decluttering at flat

Do a strategic shop - online or in RL
    text chums re eggs - 6 a day means 3.5 doz a week :D
    Meal plan
Cleaning - a fair bit I won't bore you with it here
Move the last of the logs (9 loads I think) and stack
    Feed hens again
Tidy up kitchen and sort out new shelves
Declutter books to shelves and organise lower shelves with logs/pots
    Bathrooms
1/2 hour paid work done - might do more later but well up on hours this week
Washing to sort out once its dry
Declutter/organise fridge/freezer the ham, I know you'll all be chuffed about, is now bagged and frozen into managable sizes.
More bruck to skip (never ending)
    A bit of life paperwork
Find three 'bowles mauve' or ponder taking cuttings of ones I have here.
Bash in the gate posts, for, erm the gate.
    replant lettuce
    Slug/snail patrol
    Walk el mutts locally
Rescue gloves from castle or chuck away £3 the choice is mine I guess.
Text chum about travel over weekend.

    And finally

CROSS FINGERS TO HEAR ABOUT JOB APPLICATIONS

There's more to do but we'll fathom a plan.

Eating from the garden (to remind me whilst thinking of grub) AKA free food
    Courgettes
    Cukes
    Beans
    Peas
    Cabbage leaves
    Lettuce
    Tomatoes (red and yellow)
    Mini strawbs
    Herbs = everything but oregano

    I've no doubt forgotten someat.

  • Poor you, Pips , I hate getting bitten :( I only have one bite on my ankle and you have a century  I try to cover up every bit of skin when in the garden but obviously not when it's so hot. Oh dear......

Great news for the youngling's first pay cheque. I remember it being soooooo exciting :)
