I've got a day aff wark the-day sae am at haem formulatin' a cunnin' plan. (how's that for a bit of up north speak?):rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Started off with a bit of stock take - we've got a week to get through until the next pay & it's still only mine atm! We've got five 'proteins' between the fridge and freezer, and eight assorted bits of veg to use up. So very thankful for the homestores! My English OH still has the meat & two veg mentality, but understands now that protein is only a quarter of our plate and veg is 1/2 - starch is the other 1/4 but with five bags of pasta, some couscous, bulgar wheat and dregs of the potato bag that 1/4 is the easy bit!
OH is going to play chauffeur today as we scout out some bargains on the things we've run out off - cooking oil, onions, milk, rice & eggs:eek: - We had planned a gad about day so might as well combine it with the hunting & gathering!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Aw pip, what a dilemma with Dd! Quite right that your duty as parent is to help her understand value of dosh - she'll thank you for it eventually! Shouldn't be difficult to get a term time only job, plenty of students do then go home in the summer (and are replaced by people who've been students in other places) so not being around in holidays doesn't necessarily mean not working. Hope you can come to some reasonable arrangement xx0
