LOVE that Viola Stripes - well rescued!
We'll be heading northwards....*thinks* .....EEK! 2 weeks tomorrow! Thanks to the great bathroom re-build we've been unable to get anywhere NEAR the PC at home which has the holiday lists on for the last three weeks...so I'm hoping we're not going to be left with stuff which should have been done by now, not done...scary.
The great bathroom re-build however is very nearly finished. Yay for that, much excitement and all that.
Sorry to hear you lost another feathery lady too - are you planning on re-stocking or not?
Agree totally nettles are up there with wasps, nasty ouchy pointless things.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hey RT thank you and it was very odd reading a book all day but oddly restful yes.
Nettles have non-descript flowers, dead nettles have lovely purple/white or red ones and do not bite.
EH - sad but I keep telling myself they had a great last two years. And yes we will restock but probably not until the next batch is on the go from the charity.
maybe nettles are the plant wasps?
Woo hoo re the bathroom. And again woop woop for holidays.
Must get that voila planted.
Today a few spoils also came home, must get them sorted over the next few days.
Also put in a time sheet for 25 hours and that's me done with the garden this week. Tomorrow is a womble/potter at home day.
I am hoping I can work a three day weekend into my life so the chores are done on a Friday.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Meting over woo hoo.
Turned some 50p reduced kofta beef kebabs into meat balls and used up some wonky spring onions (reduced) to make a meatball stew for tea with a squirt of tomato puree - tastes nice.
Got some cuttings to do (nepeta) and then some gardening.
Must get some compost sorted too.
Washing about to go out soon too.

work done and some chores - time to get out in the garden, peas sown and cuttings done. Fence to sort out and then a bit of sweetpea planting (reduced 50p in B&Q).
must research some more wood chip/grow bags and see who's the best offer
my shredded stuff will top up a bit but we need more than that.
Shed needs a touch up where I missed a bit and otherwise the weeds are starting so that means the growing is waking up. Its been a cold start to the season.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Fence is now fixed with a bag of post-crete and a few small bits of rubble roaming free around the garden.
got a whole lot of free soil out the hole too.

Yes to the nettle/wasps thing - love that idea!
I can also vouch for three day weekends being utterly awesome. My tomorrow is going to be a "reclaim my house" day - the building work dust will be banished and all will be fresh and shiny. well that or I'll spend all day aimlessly staring at the bathroom and thinking how beautiful it is...
Need to raid Homebase & B&Q for some rescuable plants for our tubs I think - we're late this year but it's not worth doing it now ahead of going away as a fortnight away from watering them will be too long if they're delicate cases. Poor things - can't be giving them the hope of survival and then snatching it away again.
Psst - reading a book all day is restful, well fancy that eh?!:rotfl:

My friend lives next to a house that deals drugs out the back door. She said cars are in and out all night every night, 10-12 cars a night. She has called the police numerous times...nothing. This morning my husband called the Drug Task Force and talked to a guy he had taught /coached in school. He sounded as if he would be right over to talk to my friend. Still waiting 2 hrs later.:mad:Overprepare, then go with the flow.

EH totally agree but there will also as we know be lots of bargains when you're home as they always double order at the big shops. (praying for frost)
So far I've had a chat with neighbours wife and asked if he can stop just marching into my garden, Im a delicate soul and I can't really cope with folks just charging in to my private space. He wants to dig some holes ot fix the fence. With my best elbows out, I have explained that I CAN dig a hole.
Like really.
Sweetpeas are half in and tatties are in. Shallots and onions to go in, I know its late but its been affy cauld.
I've watered the new beds in, built another one and got given some large window boxes from a friend moving, must pick up tomorrow.
My knee is oddly OK.
Also organising a few crates of plants to a chum tomorrow. All good garden karma.
Have sown peas (after soaking) and am germinating cerinthe, one of my favourites and loved by bees.
Hard to describe it - its grey and blue all at the same time.
And whilst its an annual, its a really free self seeder.
Gawgus
I may have a few extra and whilst its not 'edible' to me, the bees love it and will swoop into my garden.
