Hey RT you're fine I just had a post match analysis wobble from folks staying who just didn't get it and were a bit sniffy about it all. Made me wonder/think why our lifestyle seems to 'un normal' to some folks.
However, having spent two hours chopping pallets and stacking free wood. My universe is back on kilter. I think someone just looking as if to say 'your'e mad' (well you know what I mean) doing all that stuff.
Well its fine because it suits me to do it. And aside you lot, I don't have to answer to anyone.
And welcome home. Hope the pond overness was good to you.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Hope DD finds the right place for her. The trains are good but Hull is a fair way from Londinum

'Our' lifestyle, even if it seems overly frugal to some people, is lavish beyond the wildest dreams of many
We aren't the mad ones!0 -
Tonight our frugal/lavish dinner consisted of free runner beans, reduced egg fried rice, bargain pulled smoked beef & for sweet some 'rationed' cookies that came back from across the pond!
Our approach is to reign in everything we can so that when we 'splurge' it doesn't hurt!:D
PS - Happy Birthday Auntie Wik!!!!!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 8 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 16 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!0 -
Exactly ladies - exactly.
Dawn thanks - its a perspective thing isn't it.
And RT - yum (tea) and reigning in and splurging when required is so spot on.
Arms aching from wood chopping.
And typing report - almost done.
Then a sawdusty bath beckons.
PS AUNTY WIK recycled a meal from the 70's - sounded lush. The meal was inspired from 70's not actually leftover from then.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Ooh, happy belated birthday Wik :j :j Meal sounds fab (but yes, actually saving it from the 1970s might be a bit much, even for us
)
Sorry you had a wibble Pippi - you really are NOT mean you know - goodness, how much would go to waste if people didn't eat reduced stuff, and how wasteful is it to work for hours then throw an entire day's pay away on your dinner? Occasionally for something special, yes, but surely that's why we're thrifty when we've got beyond the desperate debt stage - to save our dosh for occasional treats, rather than just generally uppig standard of living til we don't notice or appreciate it any more, and then being in crisis if we get made redundant cos we've forgotten how to buy reduced stuff.
waffling on phone with cold hands at the station so that's a bit waffly but you know what I mean! :kisses3: Or at least I hope you do0 -
Jealous of your reductions mind
We had the usual ' £2.19 reduced to £2.08' in our co op last night - why do they bother? Does that really encourage people to buy stuff? feels very begrudging and I have a sneaking suspicion it ends up in the bin anyway...
Did get some good reduced veg from Mr M recently though , Mr Cheery is bargain hunter extreme0 -
Wiklet had a lovely time by the looks of it folks thanks.
Thanks cheery fingers crossed you hear today. xxxgood morning universe.
Tea ended up as a non event here last night as we were both working (me on report, himself on MSc stuff for his first assignment). So tonight its out of the freezer leftover slow roast lamb.
Mindful of Dawns contributions last night I am going to make sure I put some bits into the food bank trolley next time I hit the shops. Spread the love. Thanks lovely folks for putting perspective.
Today is a work day and report hand in day. Need to go a quick look over the report before I hit send.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Fly lady Focus on Monday
Todays Mission.
Dear Friends,
This week we are in Zone 3 and that is The Main Bathroom and an Extra Room! Since this month's habit is paper clutter, we are going to visit each zone and work on paper clutter for 15 minutes.
For your mission today, wipe down the outside of your bath tub, toilet and cabinets. Don't forget the top of your medicine cabinet, and the part where the tub or cabinet meets the floor.
For the extra room, let's start at the beginning and go to Zone 1, which is the entrance of your home, front porch, and dining room. Pick your place and set your timer for 15 minutes, and put a dent in that paper clutter! You don't need to get everything; just do what you can for 15 minutes.
Its also 'home blessing day' where you whizz round for an hour giving each room 15 mins if you've time, should have done this at the weekend. Might try later. Although I am trying to get my free wood mountain chopped and there are (I have discovered) only a fixed amount of hours in the day. DTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
