    Dear Friends:

Today you are to sweep your front porch area around your front door. Shake out your welcome mats and wipe down your front door. This makes a huge difference in how your home looks. We have a tendency to neglect this area and yet it is the first thing that people see when they come to your home.

Spend 15 minutes taking care of this!

    :DYeah to unexpected windfalls!!!:j:j:j

OH says (and I quote) "buy the damn plane ticket girl!":rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: - he seems to think there is plenty of time in life to be sensible and get out of debt! (that is why he will never be able to retire)

...good thing I manage our finances!:D

...so can I suggest paying it to debts/overdrafts/credit cards (cause I'm oh so sensible right?) - and then when you pay for the flight - put it on the card? - it'll save you a couple of months of interest at least, which means 'FREE' sushi & gourmet cheese!:o:D:o

hmmm - and in 15 minutes I swept, shook & stirred! as well as pruned and wiped...

don't have a porch mind you...

entry way SWEPT as OH drags in grass, leaves & muck on his shoes!
2 outside & 1 inside mat SHOOK - and out in the sun to air out...
bone stock STIRRED - pot on to rubberize the chicken bones that were in the freezer...
PRUNED the triffid that lives out front...
WIPED (!?!?!) the front door - who would have thunk that a brand new front door would be dirty - but it was!

and revelation was that it took 15 minutes:T:T:T

    (mind you I still don't 'get' fly-lady:D)

I can barely get in my 'porch' (which is a kind of offshot of the kitchen) - it's entirely full of boxes :o There's a tiny path as we use the back door as our main door, but other than that we have to clamber and move stuff to get at the washing machine/fridge/microwave - doing my head in!

Maybe I should set the timer and do something about it :D
  • Good luck cheery!!!!! As you know my porch is a cheat cos we don't use it and its just coats/shoes in there. The kitchen 'porch' however is cluttered and extensive.

I need to declutter the fridge and do a meal plan thingmy. This week went to Carp due to one thing and another, and there's a boiled chicken carcass which I need to sort out and a 'gift' chicken to roast or freeze.

Aunty Wik is coming today been a few unforseen circumstances so its a short visit.

MIL is here and might stay another night, we had a takeaway last night, she donated a chook for roasting, seems only fair to invite her to stay on and she's no bother.

Need a small list of stuff, I've been paid but haven't written womble invoice will do that over weekend.

Harvested a shed load of veg, really MUST sort out that freezer and find some good ways to freeze spinach in a condensed form.

Tomatoes flowering like crazy but sadly whilst there's some fruit hardly any of it will now set or ripen - will pick some and put a bowl on the table with reds to bring them on.

And a million courgette recipes would be lovely. Lol. 10 plants all going bonkers. Yes, what was I thinking.

Slice them thinly and rub in a bit of salt and use them as noodles :D No need to cook (but you can heat into a stir fry if you like) - can get rid of a few is you're using them instead of pasta in an entire meal :D
  • Cheery my girl that's a keeper of a recipe :) thank you!! The fourth harvest......

Gosh, that's a lot of courgettes!!

Wasn't my idea - got it from a Whole Foods Kitchen online course I did with the woman from the Beauty That Moves blog :) Definitely is a keeper - although I've not grown any myself this year so barely done it - not quite so frugal when you're buying them! But it's dead easy and cheery and really refreshing :)

The main other thing I remember from that course is the idea of slicing apples and having them as a snack with peanut butter :D Never occurred to me before but I do it all the time now - including about 10 minutes ago :D
