  • Jesus you're all so negative on here! I thought you all might be a source of inspiration and encouragement with a 'go for it and good luck' attitude but you are all extremely judgemental, critical, and somewhat scathing.

Yes I suppose I could however as my debt is £36+ so unless I win enough to pay it off in full then I will be going down the bankruptcy route and having my house repossessed and losing my job.
All seems a bit harsh over £36; christ I owe my brother more than that and I pray he doesn't take my house and make me bankrupt over a night out on the town.

Why not put £1 on Iran to win the World Cup; I'm pretty sure the odds are better than 36/1

So who does deserve to win then? What does one have to do to 'deserve' to win?

I don't know, but I rarely come across someone who has won, and I can honestly say they don't deserve it :) Maybe that's just me being generous though :P

Problem is, too many people who enter deserve to win... :rotfl:

The far more healthy way to approach your situation, rather than waiting for a miracle (and given the ITV odds, that's what an ITV win is!), get proactive... Go and talk to people in the bankruptcy forum about how they could have managed things differently to not end up in bankruptcy.

Don't expect something to fall into your lap - you need to work for it, and there will be ways of making / saving money / combining debts etc that you may not have considered. Take responsibility, own your debt, find out where to go next by engaging with the bankruptcy community, and listen to their advice. Put it this way, I doubt you'll be posting on there in five years, saying all their advice has been useless, and it's "soooo frustrating" / unfair, etc. They're good 'uns who want to help others, let them in.

These forums have saved a lot of people from financial destruction, but probably never this Competitions Board in particular...

If you want help to tackle the debt look in the debt free wannabe forums - there is a lot of helpful advice in there

sorry for not being more positive but a lot of people have a sob story they don't want to share - although there are comps on FB that give prizes away for that

I sometimes wonder if we should have a thread for that here.... We could share all our heartaches, then move on...

Jeez that's a lot of entries - I only enter once full stop - I'm too lazy to fill in the form again and again (which I am fairly sure means I don't deserve to win!;))

In answer to your question you aren't doing anything wrong it's just the way the cookie crumbles and you have a choice accept it and continue entering the way you are, modify the way your entering or walk away

I don't mean this nastily its just the way everything in life works - I sometimes get like this with comping and think 'why do I bother? Why do the comping gods hate me?' etc... (ok maybe a bit less woo is me but you know) and I give myself a quick mental slap and tell myself that no one is making me enter competitions and if I don't like it then I should walk away.
  • words fail me!!!! 26 different phone numbers??? Jesus Christ!!! ok so maybe its not against the rules, but I would definitely put it in the pure greedy category!! no normal person has 26 phone numbers... I would also say this is abusing your workplace position too, using their phone numbers... not yours.... they are not YOUR phone numbers!!!
Most people entering that have one or two personal phone numbers... 26 is just ridiculous! You are trying to play the system - glad its not worked as yet!!! us normal people with morals at least have the knowledge that you've wasted a hell of a lot of time for the past 5 years :)

And have you checked to see if they have enforceable credit agreements?

I don't think trying to win your way out of debt is in any way rational - sorry.

If you've been trying to win yourself out of debt for five years, then it's classic debt-avoidance, ostrich type behaviour... I really think you would do well to talk to others in your situation / who have been where you are now. Talking about things, getting new ideas, these will all help you in the long run. I hope you find the help that you need here...

You question was what are you doing wrong?
Based on the figures you provided your question has been answered - to sum up you are not using anywhere near enough different phone numbers to have anything like a significant chance of winning,
(to stand any chance you need to enter at least once and as you didn't even know loose women had been postal entry for weeks??)
