Debt problems????!!! I wish I just had debt problems but I happen to have a poorly sick newt with shingles which if far far worse! And do you hear me pouring out my woes??? No! I just keep calm and comp on an hope that I can win enough to cover the vet bills!

And, although I'm sure I didn't deserve it as much as the OP thinks he did, I have won an ITV comp, from the standard number of online entries from the one number... :rotfl: 156 entries per day - think how much extra money you could bring in by working for that extra hour - you could earn £36 within a week, lol

Comping is a way of bringing some enjoyment - not a money making process - though it would always be welcome if it came.

a) 155 out of your 156 entries are guaranteed losers.

b) mathematically, your nth entry increases your chance of winning by n/(n-1) (so your 156th entry increases your chances by 156/155=1.006). The most “profitable” entry is your first, after which the law of diminishing returns applies.

c) It may be reasonable to assume many people enter with their home & mobile numbers to get 12 entries, so you are only 13 times more likely to win as such a person. Put another way you have the SAME chance of winning as the first 13 people who replied to this thread. They have never won an ITV comp, they hope to but don't really expect to, and they certainly don't think they deserve to.

Spot on oldnanniP! Well said! Keep calm and comp on and enjoy it as a hobby If you win - cheer and pat yourself on the back, and if you don't - well it wasn't meant to be so let it go! That is what I do!

Wow! Well that's 5 mins of my life I won't get back reading this thread - I wonder how many ITV entries I could have done in that time?
