I have only one current account application showing under my savings accounts which are only an internet saver and instant access saver.

Yes I know. That's the bit I dislike:(
However, I might be more tolerant for 3% on £3k x 20 -
Use (the free version of) ccleaner
It allows you to retain cookies for websites of your choice, i.e. you can keep the Tesco Bank cookies whilst trashing all others.
ccleaner also cleans a lot more thoroughly than a browser does. For example, it gets rid of those nasty flash cookies that will live on your PC forever if you just use browser cleaning.0 -

I used to use ccleaner on my old PC. Haven't got round to installing it on my new (last year) laptop though. Added to 'to do' list0 -
Received a telephone call from Tesco Bank this afternoon to tell me that they had received my letter and my first current account had been successfully set up. Stated they knew about the problem when you try to open two accounts online and are trying to rectify. They went through security with me to open another account but when they did the credit check, the message came up that my application had to be passed to their underwriters, another department would ring me back. They rang me back this evening but I didn't get to answer in time. Hopefully they will ring me back or I will get a pack in the post. No hurry as planning on switching the money from Lloyds in July."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

One of my two applications is now showing online with a sort code and account number, so is usable to deposit money into but I obviously still need the card and the PIN.
The other one still shows as an application in progress.0 -
Just logged into my Tesco Bank account to check my £1 test payment had arrived safely and found the following showing:-

Which is strange as today's date is the 16th. Now wondering if that is one of my online applications and they were trying to open a third when talking to me over the phone."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0 -
It seems that there are some people here fail to understand that the bank is not a charity.
They are there to make money not to help people in need. They will lend people, give overdraft, will approve credit card if they think profitable within their estimated risk.
People who share this common value will be happy to bank with majority of high street banks.Hi I've decided that this thread may be an appropriate place to ask my question? I want a new current account, I have current accounts with Barclay's & Lloyd's & I hate them both because they epitomise the main stream banking culture in the UK. I have no interest in credit ratings as mine are in the sub basement. (Long story but I do have a debt reduction plan in place) I'm looking for a bank that uses common sense in determining a request for short term assistance with overdrafts when £3000 pm is running through the account. Credit rating won't change for many years. Do I have any options or should I put my salary under my pillow & pay my debtors manually on my terms?0 -

As long as you say you are not interested in your credit rating / your credit files, you will probably never get any credit anywhere. Why should anyone provide you with a credit product (e.g. a current account) if you have a proven history of defaulting?
You should be looking at basic accounts, alongside making every effort to repair your credit files.
