Hi gothrockchick1, I've made my first commitment to 2015 by signing up and joining this site - I was a bit overwhelmed on where to start but since reading your thread you've now got me up and running :-) Thank you xx After thinking NSD was no smoking days, I've since realised it might be No Spending Days?
I am planning on saving money first and spending as least out as possible. To start of with I am aiming to do the following;
1. No buying bottles of wine during January (or drinking at all for that matter!)
2. Using up every bit of food in the cupboards, fridge, freezer etc
3. Plan meals to go together with whatever I already have in.
4. Have as many 'no spending days' as possible.
5. No chippy teas!
Not much just yet, but as I said - for me its a start to be able to just not spend money!
Thank you for the motivation so far, looking forward to following your journey :-)

Hi EmJay1, thanks for stopping by. NSD's really do make a difference but the key is planning. I used to spend up to £100 a month on lunches :eek: money that I could be saving or investing. I also helps if you start with a small target to save at first and if you go to spend on something you don't need you have to remember your target.
All the best

Hi Gracie, thanks for stopping by. I do various things mainly Swagbucks and Mobile Expression. There are threads in the Up Your Income forum. Lots of great ideas too.0 -
Happy New Year everyone, here's to a prosperous 2015!0

Good Morning everyone, I hope no one is too rough after last nights celebrations. OH and I went to a friends party. I had the taste of champagne to bring in the New Year.
I have been writing my goals for 2015. I feel I need to make a lot of changes and will have a "projects" on the go.
Project 1 - The second bedroom :eek: has a lot of boxes in it. So January will be to clear stuff. I have a lot of clothes and stuff in general I need to clear.
Project 2 - The Flat Fund. We hope to save £10,000 together.
Project 3 - My savings. I won't be able to save much after feeding the Flat Fund but by selling stuff I hope to save £1500
Project 4 - Business Plan. I have a lot of ideas for a business plan. I need to pin down a idea and work on it, research it and make it happen.
I may introduce various projects throughout the year as one gets completed.
I also have the yearly goal of having 180 NSDs :rotfl:A new job with a decent wage would be fabulous.0 -
Happy New Year Everyone :-)
I was so hungover yesterday it was unbelievable! However, it did help me to curl up on the chair for most of the day resulting in 2 positives;
1. First NSD under my belt Yaye!
2. First alcohol free day... done!
Today I managed my 2nd NSD and am starting my first weekend that doesn't include wine :-)
I have also decided that I am going to put just £1 a day away, so at least I know I'll be able to manage that as I tried the 52 week challenge last year which only lasted a couple of months!
I also have a spare room that I need to sort through, I may get this done over the weekend - I'll do my bit by charity shopping most of my clothes but will see if I can make a few pennies on ebay from shoes and boots I've not worn in a while. I've also decided that I will buy any clothes or shoes if I need them as bargains from my local charity shop or ebay - I bought a brand new pair of boots, still in the box for £12.99 instead of £75 Christmas week :-)
I'm excited!
Good luck with your projects, I'm off to check out Swagbucks and Mobile Expression now....
Just a quick question, how do I follow or subscribe to this thread?

Hi EmJay, well done on your first NSD's, that's a great start. I will be charity shopping in the next few months as I have THREE weddings this year :eek:. There are some great finds in charity shops.
