I always bleach the yard after picking the dreaded stuff up. Yuck! :(

That's probably why they keep coming back :rotfl:

Get a hose or a strong water pistol and spray the cat(s). They're not stupid and after a few soakings (that won't hurt them) they will not come back.

That would be fine if I could spend all day every day waiting for them!

No, I'd rather she could go outside to play without having to worry about her coming back in covered in !!!!.

The other things you list are within my control.

What are you going to do when she's old enough to play further afield than your garden?

You do realise that you have no right to expect cat owners to clean up after their cats? If it were a dog, it would be different, but cat owners have no legal responsibility to do so, you'd just be asking them a very odd favour.

She should be old enough to take responsibility for it herself by then - eg you step in it, you get rid of it! I'm doing my part by ripping out all the carpets and putting in hard, wipe-clean flooring throughout the downstairs of the house!

You can buy boxes of repellent in garden centres. I have a problem with foxes and feral cats coming into my garden so mum bought me a box of Silent Roar (it is quite expensive), I put a small handful where these animals come into my garden (which reminds me that I need to replenish it) - these are rabbit poo sized pellets that have been treated with lion urine, foxes and cats hate them so don't come in.

Fox poo stinks to high heaven, their urine is extremely pungent too (far worse than a tom cat) and they tend to leave it uncovered in the garden, cats tend to cover up their poo.

My foil and fake snake plan failed for the first time (I am sure the cats are reading this thread).

Even more annoying was that a cat I didn't recognise was on my shed roof as I was making tea last night and so I opened the door to chase it and it started miaowing and coming towards me. I panicked and shut the door. Ha! I don't want to be mean to them but I want them to be 'scared' to be in my yard. Impossible.

Think a trip to the garden centre is in order.

I heard that they hate the smell of citrus and although the peel did not work, I am planning to try the citronella candles and I noticed them in a garden centre recently. I didn't buy as the poo-ing had stopped. Typical. I think these cats are taunting me!

Does anyone think the sound thing you can buy will work in a yard? They look made for gardens
  • I'm not sure about getting a sonic thingy because what if it affects them in their own garden? And they like to walk along the fences too.

Why were you scared of the cat? Was it vicious? They sunbathe on sheds, trampolines, etc. and when the cats down the road miaow at you they are just chatting and asking for some fuss.

will put off the most determined of cat/foxes/dog ect and is complete;y humane and wont get washed away.

Got one of these too. :D I call it the kitty claymore. :rotfl:

Only downside is it has rather a long range and high firing angle which in my postage stamp sized garden tends to end up watering the neighbours. :p

It has since been modified to a rose type sprinkler and it great for when I go away and need the plants to be watered.
