Lemon juice apparently works, basically citrus, that sonic repellant as above, I've also heard that if you have a local zoo you can get lion poo which they won't go anywhere near (maybe B&Q do it too?), there's also stuff you can pick up at B&Q which is garlic based iirc.

We recently put burglar paint near the top of our fence and covered it with lemon juice so moggies don't tread it all over their owner's carpet and that worked a treat.

Whatever you do, don't use bleach. It encourages them to toilet there!

Please don't use garlic based products, garlic (and onions) are highly toxic to cats.

It causes them to bleed internally and die a very slow and painful death....very similar to what rat poison does.

I'm not planning on poisoning any of them, but I'm more bothered about my 3 year old getting it all over her and potential blindness to be honest. If people want cats, that's fine. But please train them to go at your house and not in my front garden!!!

I tried all sorts of chemical repellants with no effect whatsoever so I invested in a couple of ultrasonic cat repellants from Amazon, the day after I installed one a cat paid a visit and left a deposit (it does say on the instructions that it may take a little while for the device to take effect), then it found another place to go out of range so I purchased a second unit, since then I've had no problems at all.

Next door's little boy says he can hear it (think he's about six) but it doesn't bother him at all.
Worrying won't stop bad stuff from happening, it just stops you from enjoying the good.

Get your own cat - It will chase all offenders off its territory and go poop on theirs! :)

not necessarily - my cat will certainly defend his territory but he's not outside all the time, and his presence/scent doesn't deter any neighbourhood cats coming into my garden and pooing in it. I use garlic scented powder granules (Wilkos brand at the moment, its advertised as a dog and cat repellant).

you can't really train a cat which goes outdoors unleashed.

I've read posts here that people have trained cats only to go in litter trays at home and not outside (how they know, I'm not sure).

Best hope their owners don't mind them coming home stinking of garlic and lemon and soaking wet!

thats precisely my point - if they're unleashed and roaming, how do their owners know where they're pooping and peeing?
  • Garlic is poisonous to cats. please stop suggesting garlic of any sorts to end the problem - it will kill the cats.

you can't train a cat to 'not go outside':o. Of my two cats, one will scratch at the door to get inside to use the loo, the other will wee in my garden if she feels like it:eek:. Lemon oil discourages cats from an area, and it smells nice when you pass!:D

i think lemon oil discourages foxes too - it may not be cats that are weeing there!;)

It's not just wee. It's disgusting. Your choice to own cats shouldn't have others on hands and knees wretching while they clear up their !!!!.
