Can you smell the flavours? I mean if I were in the same room, would I be able to smell someone smoking an e-cig?

OH has one - and WaS he felt the same about rolling proper cigs! - and I can smell it.

I'm not keen on it...but nowhere near as much as I hated him smoking :)

I am getting quite anxious about losing weight :(

As I mentioned, I have been allocated a health trainer and some exercise classes and I have been to both of them. I have lost four pounds in two weeks, which I am pleased about, but I weighed myself at home and despite keeping my portion size down and walking more, appear not to have lost this week. I don't see the Health Trainer until Tuesday, so there is still time. Just getting quite anxious about it. :(

I know no-one on here can help, but it's still nice to be able to confess my fears without fear of judgement or prejudice that you get on other threads. Thanks all for the support :)

Despite what the judgemental people will tell you, your body is not a machine. While the basic rules are right more things are at play. :). You might not lose weight evenly two pounds a week, but if you stick to the 'rules' and are healthy you will lose weight. If you lose nothing this week you might have a week you lose three pounds, or it might slow down.

Walking more is healthy full stop. :D. WELL DONE. I used to find the earlier in the day I took a walk the better. A walk on first waking makes a huge difference for me. It also means there is time for more later if I fancy it. :)

Exactly LIR. SDW, slow and steady wins the race :) If you've just started (or upped) your exercise, your muscles will be recovering and this can affect how much water you retain. As can your sodium levels, hormone levels, etc. Water weight alone can make a huge difference day to day.

I know it's easier said than done but please don't be disheartened. It sounds like you're making some great changes.

I ate a huge KFC last night, and a LOT of chocolate the day before - so you're beating me hands down :rotfl:

I read somewhere, that your body can go into 'help there's no food!' Mode, and stops breaking down fat, when your calorie intake over the week is low. The suggestion was to eat a bit more one day, or at least, not restrict calories one day, to let your body know that there is food, and it's ok to carry on burning fat!

E-cigs, what can you smell? Do you smell 'cigarettes' or the 'flavour'?

My ex always said he couldn't really smell anything, certainly not cigs (he'd not have been happy with me using my ecig if it did lol), Beau said it kind of smells like the flavour. I have a vanilla liquid atm and it smells a bit like vanilla but its not that noticeable to me anyway

    I share dog dog's opinion.

Sdw, don't be disheartened. As the others have said, it may be that you're retaining water, or building muscle or that you've not eaten enough and your body is storing fat. You're doing so well, so it doesn't matter if you lose weight consistently each week as long as the general trend is downward. Also, I was on a diet once that made you weigh yourself every single day and take the mean of the readings. You'd be surprised how much your body weight fluctuates day to day - sometimes as much as 7lbs.

Yes, and don't forget to go to the loo, cut your finger and toe nails and exfoliate your body before you weigh yourself! :rotfl:

  • Thanks all for your advice. Yes I know that slow and steady weightloss is better and in fact have lost 3 stone twice with WW, but it went on again when I was unhappy because I comfort eat. I know all the rules but for some reason can't get motivated with WW this time and have been alloocated this health trainer so I'm sticking with her.

Jusat feeling anxious about it, don't know why, but not good for a person who is prone to comfort eating.

Glad I can come on here and express my fears. Thanks all again:T
