  • Excellent job, melly! how are you feeling today?

Hello Duke! Hope you and Harry are ok! I did the same with a bottle of essential oils once. I thought a few drops as instructed was nowhere near enough so gave it several big shakes. Not only was I incredibly drowsy for the evening (it was relaxing lavendar) I looked like I had been in an oil slick for a while

Hi WaS, we're OK thanks for asking. We went for a meal yesterday & had a lovely time :)

I had similar experience with hair wax, had to wash my hair about 8 times :o

Oh you got me started now, then there was the vaseline to give me longer lashes, my eyes were all swollen up the next morning!

Yes! But do you know, I've rediscovered the Agatha Christie Hour on Drama! These were lovely little dramas using Christie's short stories! They were made in the 80s, and I didn't see all of them at the time.
They are very well made with a lovely attention to period detail!

I've always been a huge fan of Christie.
One has just started, if anyone's interested!

I have three recorded to watch and am just recording the fourth. :) In fact I think I'll watch one in a minute .

Yes! They're gentle and relaxing, and due to the period detail being so good, they don't seem at all dated, if you know what I mean! (They were made 1981/2 but are set in the interwar years.)

If anyone is interested, the Princess Bride is on today.

"My name is Inigo Montoya."(the rest of that may be too penguiny for WaS) .

Day 4 without aspartame. Almost pain free. Very irritible. Mr Codemonkey might end up at his mother's house if he keeps annoying me (I haven't told him I've given up aspartame or he'd do the "I told you so" thing.)

Aw, melly sorry to hear that. You did the right thing by resigning, you need a bit of time for you or you will totally burn out.

Good news on the pain-free-ness code! Not so good on the irritableness but I sympathise. I am so used to caffeine that coffee has no effect on me even if I drink it before bed. When the flu was bad and I couldn't drink it I kept getting a huge urge to throw things (at or including WaSp) plus a terrible headache. I should do something about that really...

Now I am curious to learn what might be penguiny for WaS!

Oh, and WaSp gets silly man of the week award. He recorded Watership Down for me in case I want to watch it. I can't even listen to the song without crying. Does he know me at all? He did suggest we could skip over 'that' part but I still know it happens!

I want to watch Agatha Christie but people die so maybe not. I settled for a Doctor Who with Tom Baker instead. The scenery really did wobble!

Melly, sounds like a good decision for you.

Code monkey. I had not made the connection, but it wonder if my decrease in incidence of tn was related to cutting down on sweeteners ( I still occasionally have cordials and other drinks, but not very often.).

I have been so comfortable since last body work. I think its combination of being almost totLly on bed rest for so long and having the treatment. The total relaxation from both physical stuff and responsibility seems to have made incredible difference.

This has been the single longest period of time DH has had off work ever. Its been incredible to have so long together. I found yesterday I was starting to get a little closed up emotionally, knowing that 'getting it together' both for physical responsibilities and getting back in routine of him not being here is going to be a shock to the system.
  • I am glad that you had such a good time together, LIR. I totally understand on the closing up emotionally thing. When it became clear that WaSp would need to spend the night at his mum's I withdrew a lot emotionally, too much in a way, to try and protect myself from the sadness of him not being here and because I knew that I would have to cope alone some of the time. I wish I could come up with a way that meant it won't hurt a bit at first but I can't. At least you know that you have both done this before and at the end of the week you will always be able to be together, doesn't make it easier though.

Well done, Code! the first week is the worst and you're more than halfway through that! :T

WaS, these short stories are different. People don't die in them like in the Miss Marple/Poirot programmes. And they all end happily, or at least, satisfactorily!
There are gentle elements of mystery, but nothing triggery, I would say. In fact many people would say they are very tame, but they are so well made, these programmes! :)

Edit: hahaha! Spoke too soon. In the "Red Signal" which
I'm watching now, someone gets shot! Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

LIR, really glad you've had a good rest. It can only stand you in good stead. But I can understand that it'll be a wrench when Fir's off again.
